Preliminary Hearing Begins for Man Accused of Murdering LASD Sergeant Steve Owen

Trenton Trevon Lovell, 28, will face murder and other charges stemming from the 2016 shooting death of a sergeant outside a Lancaster apartment complex. Lovell is scheduled to be arraigned on September 4th.

Temple City Shop Owner Stakes Out His Own Shop, Shoots Intruder, and Holds Him Until Deputies Arrive

The owner of an auto repair shop in Temple City had been burglarized three times in recent weeks so he'd been sleeping in his shop with a .380 pistol close at hand just in case they came back.

Accelerated Testing Event at COC Attracts Twice as Many Applicants Than Expected!

Over 200 applicants came to the event, including 191 applying to be a Deputy Sheriff Trainee, and 27 applying to be a Reserve Deputy Sheriff. Deputies at the event credited the large number of applicants to the fact that they allowed walk-in applicants for the event.

LA County Coroner Says Alleged "Falling" Death of Child is Suspicious

Deputies responded to the boy’s apartment in the 1100 block of East Avenue K at about noon Wednesday on a report that the boy had been injured in a fall and was not breathing. The boy’s death is considered suspicious.

LASD Deputies Seize Over 500 Weapons at Convicted Felon's Agua Dulce Residence

About 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Palmdale Station detectives along with investigators from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the California Department of Justice served a search warrant in the 34700 block Caprock Road in the unincorporated Agua Dulce area and arrested Manuel Fernandez.

Detectives Release Surveillance Video of Person of Interest Linked to Killing of West Hollywood Man

On May 23, 65-year-old victim George McKinney was involved in a physical altercation with a man outside of a West Hollywood fast food restaurant that ultimately resulted in his death, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
