Welcome to the October Edition of Jurupa Valley's Economic Development Monthly Report.
 This Manufacturing Month, Riverside County proudly celebrates the innovators and companies that drive our regional economy. With more than 44,400 people employed in manufacturing in 2024, this vital sector continues to expand, offering sustainable careers, advancing innovation, and fueling community resilience.
Our local manufacturers are leading the way in clean technology, automation, and renewable energy, contributing to cutting-edge industries such as aerospace, electric vehicles, and energy storage. In 2023, Riverside County’s manufacturing sector generated over $7.5 billion in economic output, ranking 63rd out of more than 3,000 U.S. counties for manufacturing productivity.
The City of Jurupa Valley is proud to maintain an active partnership with Riverside County to support and promote local manufacturing businesses. This month, the City is highlighting one of its very own local food manufacturers (Galasso's Bakery), showcasing how innovation and hard work continue to thrive in Jurupa Valley.
Mayor's Business Award - Galasso's Bakery

This month, the City of Jurupa Valley is proud to highlight Galasso’s Bakery, a cornerstone of Southern California’s baking industry since 1968. Located on a 6-acre site spanning 115,000 square feet, Galasso’s produces premium fresh and frozen baked goods enjoyed throughout the region.
As a privately held, certified women-owned business, Galasso’s employs some of the finest bakers in the world, crafting an impressive variety of breads, including wheat, specialty, sourdough, rye, French, and dark wheat. Galasso’s products can be found at many popular restaurants and grocery chains, a testament to the bakery’s reach and reputation. At their Jurupa Valley facility, they can produce an enormous number of breads and rolls, showcasing both efficiency and craftsmanship.
With a steadfast commitment to quality, reliability, and community, Galasso’s continues to thrive, earning top marks from food auditors nationwide. The company is also hiring, offering exciting opportunities to join a team passionate about excellence. Grand Opening - Colorado Biolabs

The City of Jurupa Valley is excited to welcome Colorado Biolabs, Inc., a pharmaceutical company that was founded in 1997 and has successfully expanded into Jurupa Valley. This strategic move will enhance Colorado Biolabs’ manufacturing and laboratory testing capabilities, driving innovation, job creation, and economic growth in our City. The company’s new Jurupa Valley facility will support over 20 new positions.
Colorado Biolabs is widely recognized for pioneering advancements in iron deficiency treatment, including the introduction of Heme Iron Polypeptide (HIP) to the U.S. market.

On Tuesday, September 9th, the City of Jurupa Valley was honored to welcome Dr. Tara Lynn Gray, Director of the Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA) in recognition of Volta Medical Group. Volta Medical Group serves a vital role in the community by offering accessible healthcare services, including primary care, specialty care, and urgent care to all residents regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay. CalOSBA recognizes organizations that invest in people and contribute to the strength and resilience of local communities.

Small Business Saturday was founded by American Express in 2010 and co-sponsored by the Small Business Administration with the goal of encouraging holiday shoppers to shop locally and at small businesses.

This is a reminder of the importance of shopping and dining in Jurupa Valley. Shopping and dining locally accomplishes the following:
- Reduces air pollution since automobiles travel fewer miles

- Stimulates our local economy
- Facilitates community building
- Allows discovery of unique finds
- Re-circulates money back into our community (“multiplier effect”)

Register Your Business
All businesses must register with the City of Jurupa Valley to obtain a Business Registration Certificate. Registering your business ensures your business is operating in the proper zone and is a permitted use. Businesses must also renew their business registration on an annual basis to remain compliant with the City of Jurupa Valley Municipal Code.
Businesses that are not physically located within the City limits may also be required to obtain a City of Jurupa Valley Business Registration Certificate if they are working within the City.

Jurupa Road Grade Separation Project
The Jurupa Road Grade Separation Project will create a four-lane underpass on Jurupa Road under Van Buren Blvd. Upon completion, this underpass will significantly improve safety and traffic circulation for its users.

Available Industrial Space - Caterpillar Court
 Multiple buildings are now available for lease or purchase at Caterpillar Court, located at 6175 Caterpillar Court in Jurupa Valley. This modern industrial complex features four buildings ranging in size from 23,000 to 44,000 square feet, making it an ideal location for manufacturing, logistics, or distribution operations.
Each building offers high-end, two-story office space, dock-high and ground-level loading, dock packages with LED lighting, and an 800-amp, 277/480-volt power service. The facilities also feature energy-efficient warehouse, office, and site lighting, with a warehouse clearance height ranging from 26 to 30 feet. Additional amenities include an ESFR sprinkler system, multi-stall restrooms, and Manufacturing–Medium (M-M) zoning to accommodate a variety of industrial uses.

 MicroEnterprise Collaborative of Inland Southern California consists of a diverse coalition of community leaders dedicated to improving small business development in the Inland Empire and eastern Los Angeles County. The purpose of the MicroEnterprise Collaborative is to create and sustain businesses and jobs through micro-business development.

State & Federal Clean Energy Incentives
 The Office of Economic Development has launched a new Clean Energy Tax Incentives and Federal Programs webpage on RivCoED.org. This section of the webpage compiles a variety of state and federal incentives available to support clean energy innovation and sustainability efforts in Riverside County. These opportunities, including the Inflation Reduction Act, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and the California Energy Commission’s programs, provide a range of tax credits, grants, and funding options for businesses and entrepreneurs.

Riverside County Monthly Job Fair
 Friday, October 31, at 9 AM
The Riverside County Workforce Development will resume hosting their monthly job fairs at their main office, located at 1325 Spruce St., Riverside, CA, 92507. This event is free to the public. Several public agencies and for-profit businesses will be present for this event. In addition, Riverside County's Workforce Development staff provides job seekers with a career coach, resume assistance, and interviewing resources such as mock interviews, job interview tips, and how to answer common interview questions. Job seekers are asked to bring several copies of their updated resume and to dress professionally.
