City Manager's Message
Dear Jurupa Valley Insider,
As the year winds down, the holiday season brings a special sense of joy and community. It’s a time to celebrate the things that make our City unique—our residents, local businesses, and the spirit of togetherness that defines us.
Holiday Festivities Around Town
The City is embracing the holiday spirit with a variety of festive events this December. From dazzling light displays to community activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. I encourage you to join us in celebrating the season and connecting with your neighbors.
A highlight of our holiday festivities is the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, which will take place Wednesday, December 4 at City Hall from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This cherished tradition marks the official kickoff to the season, with live music, tasty treats, and photos with Santa. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and enjoy the holiday magic.
City Council’s Legislative Efforts in Washington, D.C.
In November, members of our City Council traveled to Washington, D.C., to meet with federal lawmakers and discuss our City’s legislative priorities. Their efforts focused on securing funding for critical community projects and services. I’m happy to report that our Council made great strides in advocating for resources that will strengthen and grow our community.
Looking Ahead
As we close out 2024, I’m filled with optimism for the future of our City. With the dedication of our Council, City staff, and community partners, we are well-positioned for the year ahead. I look forward to continuing our work together to make Jurupa Valley an even better place to live, work, and thrive. Wishing you all a joyful and peaceful holiday season!
Warm regards,
Rod Butler City Manager

Councilmembers Visit Washington, D.C. to Advocate for Jurupa Valley
In late November, City of Jurupa Valley officials made an important trip to Washington, D.C., where they worked diligently on issues crucial to the community's future. The focus of their visit was to address key concerns such as homelessness, school safety, disaster preparedness, and securing funding to support the City’s growth.
During their time in the nation’s capital, the councilmembers met with influential leaders, including Senator Alex Padilla, Congressman Mark Takano, and staff from Senator Adam Schiff’s office. These meetings were centered around advocating for Jurupa Valley’s needs and seeking federal support to ensure the city’s continued progress and development.
Looking ahead, the councilmembers are set to travel to Sacramento next month to engage with state officials. This trip will allow them to continue their advocacy efforts, ensuring that Jurupa Valley’s priorities remain a top focus at the state level.
Stay tuned for future updates as our councilmembers continue to push forward on these vital initiatives for the betterment of our community!
