City Manager's Message
Dear Reader,
As we welcome the fall season, I want to thank everyone who joined us for the 2024 State of the City event. It was a wonderful evening celebrating our community's progress and achievements. This month, I invite you to join us for Coffee with the Mayor on Thursday, October 3, 8 a.m. at Bakeria. This casual gathering is a great chance to connect with Mayor Silva and discuss the latest happenings in our City.
We are also seeking entries for the Annual Veterans Parade and Celebration on November 9. This is a fantastic opportunity for community members to come together and honor our veterans. We encourage everyone to participate by submitting a float or group entry. More detailed information is provided below.
Additionally, please save the date for our Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony at City Hall on Wednesday, December 4, at 5:30 p.m. This festive event will kick off the holiday season and is a wonderful way for families to celebrate together.

Bulky Item Disposal at Patriot High School
Don't forget to attend the FREE bulky item, solid waste, green waste, and E-waste collection event.
Proof of JV residency is required.
Date: Saturday, October 12, 2024 Time: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. Location: Patriot High School (4355 Camino Real)
Accepted items to dispose of include chairs, mattresses, tree branches, and more. Please note that hazardous waste cannot be collected at this event.

 Pick Up Your Free Food Waste Pail at City Hall
Jurupa Valley residents can now dispose of food waste in their green waste barrels. Acceptable items include raw or cooked food scraps, vegetables, eggshells, meat, seafood, and food-soiled paper products like napkins and paper towels.
Free food waste pails are available at City Hall. Collect your food scraps in a lined pail throughout the week and empty the tied bags into your green waste barrel on collection day. Please remember, only bagged food waste goes into the green waste barrel—do not place the pail at the curb.

Election Resources for Residents
Mark your calendars! The next regular Municipal Election is set for November 5, 2024, with two seats open in Council Districts 2 and 4.
To help residents understand the various propositions, the City has created a video presentation. This video will be available before the upcoming City Council meetings on October 3 and October 17. You can also find it on the City's YouTube Channel.

Calling for Entries for the Annual Veterans Parade!
Jurupa Valley's annual Veterans Parade & Celebration is just around the corner, and we want YOU to be part of it! Now accepting entries for a float, a marching group, or a creative display.
Enter the Parade with a float or group entry: To join the parade, visit the City's website to download an application. Once completed, email form to events@jurupavalley.org, drop it off at City Hall, or mail it to City Hall, Attn: Veterans Parade, 8930 Limonite Avenue, Jurupa Valley, CA 92509. The entry deadline is October 15, 2024.

Claim Your $35 Rebate!
The Jurupa Valley City Council has approved a $1 million Utility Rebate Program through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to support residents. The City has partnered with its three main water agencies to provide a $35 rebate directly on your water bill.
Applying is easy—just visit Jurupa Valley Utility Rate Payback Assistance Program and fill out the online application.

The YMCA Youth Center in Jurupa Valley invites the community to a FREE Health and Wellness Fair on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Located at 9254 Galena St., this event is your opportunity to take charge of your health!
Explore community healthcare resources, pick up FREE COVID-19 test kits, and participate in a mobile blood drive provided by Cedars-Sinai. You'll also find information on YMCA programs and enjoy light refreshments.

Louis Robidoux Parkland & Pecan Grove Fall Festival

Come visit Rivers & Lands Conservancy staff at the Louis Robidoux Parkland & Pecan Grove for a Fall Festival event on Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. There will be hands-on activities for kids while sharing information about conservation projects and stewardship opportunities for volunteers.
