Welcome to the second edition of Jurupa Valley's Economic Development Monthly Report.
Last month, our Jurupa Valley City Council, in partnership with Riverside County, proclaimed the month of March as Arts and Culture Month. The recipient of this proclamation was Wes Andree, Executive Director of the Jurupa Mountains Discovery Center.
This month-long celebration served to highlight Jurupa Valley's local museums, such as Jurupa Mountains Discovery Center, Jensen Alvarado Ranch and Crestmore Manor.

Shop Jurupa Valley Campaign
As 2024 kicks off, this is a reminder of the importance of shopping and dining in Jurupa Valley. Shopping and dining locally accomplishes the following:
- Reduces air pollution since automobiles travel fewer miles
- Creates jobs
- Stimulates our local economy
- Facilitates community building
- Allows discovery of unique finds
- Re-circulates money back into our community (“multiplier effect”)
- Encourages improved customer service
Business Spotlight - Pizza Plugg
This month, we turn our business spotlight to Pizza Plugg. Ronnie, owner of Pizza Plugg, has operated his business since November 5, 2022. Ronnie's business has successfully overcome several challenges, including opening a business during a pandemic and creatively meeting the public's demand for enhanced services. Ronnie says that the greatest difficulties have been the lack of self-care, long working hours and personal sacrifices he's had to make to sustain his business and family.
Despite the challenges, Pizza Plugg continues to grow and provide high quality services to the community. Ronnie has partnered with Rubidoux High School in the past to allow their culinary students to be trained at his restaurant on food health and safety standards. Most recently, Ronnie spoke to students, in partnership with Jurupa Unified School District, as part of the District's Career Technical Education program and regularly donates pizza for class competitions.
Ronnie has expressed his gratitude for his many relationships and support he has received from the Jurupa Valley community.
