Grand Opening for Kiku Crossing |

CalHFA Board Member Preston Prince represented the Agency today in San Mateo, speaking at the Grand Opening for Kiku Crossing, a 225-unit affordable housing development.
Approved for a loan through CalHFA’s Mixed-Income Program (MIP) in 2021, Kiku Crossing is providing much-needed affordable homes at a mix of low incomes in San Mateo, one of the highest-cost counties in California. Spearheaded by developer MidPen Housing, this housing was built with financing from a variety of public, private and nonprofit partners including CDLAC and CTCAC, the City of San Mateo, the County of San Mateo, the Housing Authority County of San Mateo and HEART Local Housing Trust Fund.
MIP launched in 2019 following the passage of the Building Homes and Jobs Act, and in that time has provided financing to help construct 11,171 units of affordable housing at a mix of income levels.
Thank you for supporting CalHFA and our mission to invest in diverse communities with financing programs that help more Californians have a place to call home.
