Buena Esperanza, a 69-unit affordable housing development in Anaheim that was financed in part through CalHFA’s Special Needs Housing Program (SNHP), received a Charles L. Edson Tax Credit Excellence Award in the Housing for Veterans of the Armed Forces category on Tuesday, September 24.
Developed by Jamboree Housing Corporation in partnership with the City of Anaheim, U.S. Bank and other public and private partners, Buena Esperanza provides permanent supportive housing to 69 formerly homeless residents living with a mental health diagnosis.
In collaboration with Orange County’s Health Agency, CalHFA administered MHSA funds through the SNHP. The program has sunsetted after CalHFA administered funds to help finance developments with more than 3,300 units of affordable housing.
