CalHFA Housing Finance Officer Kevin Brown joined a group of dignitaries that also included San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria, among others, for today’s Grand Opening for The Helm, a 78-unit affordable housing development in San Diego’s Cortez Hill neighborhood.
Approved for a loan through CalHFA’s Mixed-Income Program (MIP) in 2021, The Helm was constructed in collaboration with Affirmed Housing, CTCAC, the San Diego Housing Commission and various private partners.
A member of CalHFA’s Board of Directors, Stephen Russell who is Executive Director of the San Diego Housing Federation, was also in attendance.
MIP launched in 2019 following the passage of the Building Homes and Jobs Act, and in that time has provided financing to help construct 7.654 units of affordable housing at a mix of income levels.
Thank you for supporting CalHFA and our mission to invest in diverse communities with financing programs that help more Californians have a place to call home.
