In support of those fighting to retain Ukraine's independence, as well as loved ones and ex-pats here in our area, the City changed our Pier Plaza lights to the Ukrainian flag colors of blue and yellow. We are thinking of all the refugees around the world and hoping for peace.
Dear Readers –
The City e-newsletter, on hiatus due to the pandemic and staffing levels, is back, but in a refreshed format: The newsletter will be shorter and simpler. We’ll continue to post timely updates, including sharing posts from City partners, to our social media accounts. Feel free to share this with your friends and tell them they can sign up at hermosabeach.gov/enewsletter.

Here's The Latest
Improving ADA access at the Beach
To make the beach more accessible, the City has installed new Mobi-Mats at 2nd Street and 22nd Street, for a total of three Mobi-Mats (the third, at 11th St., was installed last summer.) The City will also be installing some additional accessible path improvements. This will include new concrete work near the beginning of each of mats locations to improve the transition between the exiting concrete and where the mat begins. Lastly, we will make curb ramp improvements and install two new Americans with Disability Act (ADA) parking spaces (one each at 2nd Street and 22nd Street).
We owe a special thanks to the 70 volunteers who swept sand off the original beach access path over the past two years.
Green Carts Are Here
Don't forget, the green carts will be serviced on the same day as your trash and recycling by Athens Services.
