We hope you will join us this Tuesday, October 4th for a Special City Council meeting at 4:00 p.m. followed by the regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. We are pleased to continue to offer this meeting both in-person and virtually for community members. We encourage you to join us in City Council Chambers, watch live, and/or participate. Directions for how to do so can be found below. Items on the agenda include:
- City Council will hold a continued public hearing beginning at 4:00 p.m. to consider the final environmental review and development plan for the San Jose Creek Bike Path Project (Project). The public hearing is continued from the September 20th meeting where Council asked staff to return with more information regarding impact to trees in the project area and the overall cost of the project. The Project will provide a critical connection between existing bike routes north of U.S. 101 and the Atascadero Creek Bike Path to the south. It will connect bike routes north of Calle Real all the way to the Coast Route, that connects to Goleta Beach, UCSB and into Santa Barbara. The final environmental document can be viewed on the project webpage at https://tinyurl.com/4sawzetu, and the staff report is available at: https://tinyurl.com/5yre4wy9.
- Council will present Certificates of Recognition to United Boys and Girls Club Gold Card Members. Boys and Girls Club members that have attended at least 105 days in the same calendar year will be recognized. National studies show that members who reached this level of attendance are twice as likely to graduate high school on time and twice as likely to lead a healthy lifestyle.
