Tune in to the March 2 Goleta City Council Meeting at 5:30 p.m.

Council will consider APCD Grant Agreement, General Plan/Coastal Land Use Plan 2020 Progress Report, Operating and CIP Budget Amendments for Fiscal Year 2020/21

We hope you will join us for the upcoming virtual Goleta City Council meeting on Tuesday, March 2, at 5:30 p.m. (closed session begins at 5:00 p.m.). There are several important items being discussed, and we encourage you to watch live and/or participate. Directions for how to do both are below.

  • City Council will discuss the Air Pollution Control District (APCD) Clean Air Grants Infrastructure Program Grant Agreement. Staff applied for funding under APCD’s 2020 Clean Air Grants Infrastructure Program to purchase an off-grid, solar-powered dual port electric vehicle (EV) charging station at City Hall and received a grant totaling $61,333. This amount covers approximately 75% of the equipment cost, which is discounted for California public entities per the State of California Department of General Services contract. The remaining matching funds of approximately $21,000 will come from the Sustainability Program’s portion of the existing Cal OES grant allocation that was awarded in FY 19/20, requiring no cash outlay by the City for the equipment. • Council will consider adopting a resolution approving the General Plan/Coastal Land Use Plan 2020 Progress Report. Council will receive an annual progress report assessing the level of implementation and effectiveness of the General Plan relative to orderly growth and development, preservation and conservation of open space land and natural resources, and the efficient expenditure of public funds. The annual progress report also provides information regarding the City’s progress in meeting its share of regional housing needs. • Council will also consider a resolution amending the City of Goleta’s Operating and CIP Budget for Fiscal Year 2020/21. Council will receive a report providing a financial update on the City’s preliminary actual revenue and expenditure activity through the second quarter for the FY 2020/21 Operating and Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Budget, which was adopted on June 18, 2019, as part of the two-year FY 2019/20 and FY 2020/21 budget plan and amended on June 16, 2020. The information in this report is preliminary and provides a review of the continued estimated economic impact experienced from the COVID-19 pandemic from July 1, 2020, through December 31, 2020, and other relevant financial information. Additionally, this report recommends various adjustments to the FY 2020/21 budget. The staff report is available at https://tinyurl.com/5558shw7.

  • City Council will present a Proclamation Proclaiming Peace Corps Week as February 28, 2021 Through March 6, 2021 and the 60th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Peace Corps in the City of Goleta.
