MARCH 2018 ISSUE

March offers lots of opportunity to get involved with City projects. We have community workshops / meetings on noxious odors, parking restrictions in Old Town, the Hollister Complete Streets Corridor Plan and Old Town Sidewalks. Plus, our State of the City community event returns next month on April 10. These workshops / meetings are an opportunity for you to provide input and help shape the direction of the project. Please come so that your voice can be heard.

The City is also pleased to share a number of awards that we have recently received. The National Council for Home Safety and Security ranked Goleta as one of the safest cities in California, the HAWK Crosswalk Project in front of the Goleta Valley Community Center was awarded Project of the Year by the Central Coast Chapter of the American Public Works Association, and our Finance Department received its first Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association.

Noxious Odors Meeting Tonight!

The City’s community meeting on noxious odors in Western Goleta is tonight, March 7, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. It will take place in Goleta City Hall Council Chambers (130 Cremona Drive, Suite B). The meeting has been organized by the City to educate our residents about the steps that should be taken if someone smells a noxious odor.  Read more...

We want your input on our Hollister Avenue Complete Streets Corridor Plan. Please attend our community workshop on March 13 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Goleta Valley Community Center (5679 Hollister Avenue) or our workshop for Old Town business owners and employees on March 14 from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. also at the Goleta Valley Community Center. Read more...

Local Parking Restrictions for Deltopia

Deltopia in Isla Vista is planned for April 7, 2018. The City will continue its temporary parking restrictions program as it has done in the past for both Deltopia and Halloween.
