Last month saw not one, but two, State of the City events where attendees learned about Goleta's accomplishments, projects, and finances from Mayor Paula Perotte and City Manager Michelle Greene. Guests were also treated to a “My Goleta” video and heard a presentation on housing. Cathedral Oaks at Winchester Canyon Opens Today!

The City will reopen Cathedral Oaks Road between Winchester Canyon Road and Calle Real on Tuesday, June 6.  The bike lane and shoulder will remain closed until the final repairs are made. The road has been closed since January 30, 2017, due to damage incurred during the rain storms we had. Read more...

SLC Hosts Meeting on Platform Holly

The California State Lands Commission (CSLC) is holding a community meeting at Goleta City Hall on Thursday, June 15 from 6-9 p.m. to discuss the future of Platform Holly and the Ellwood Piers.  Come and learn more about what Venoco’s bankruptcy and quitclaiming of its interests in Platform Holly and the Ellwood Piers leases mean for the future of our community.  Read more...

Construction is Under Way on the Hollister Class I Bike Path

You may have noticed the work being done on Hollister Avenue between Pacific Oaks Road and Ellwood Elementary School. Construction is in full swing on the new Hollister Class I Bike Path, which will provide a safe way for local students to get to school. During most of the six month construction period, Hollister Avenue in that area will be reduced to two lanes with left turn lanes remaining. Read more...

Street Paving Coming Soon!

The City of Goleta is aware of the deteriorating condition of the roads and understands that those who use these roads are frustrated. There are over 80 miles of roads in the City of Goleta and City Council has approved $18.3 million to help repair these roads over the next five years. Read More...
