Rincon Palms was scheduled to begin work on extending the
recycled water line from the point of connection in the middle of the Storke /
Hollister intersection east on Hollister Road this last Sunday, July 31st,
beginning at 8 p.m. This work has been rescheduled to begin the following
weekend on Sunday, August 7th, to complete some preparatory work for
this project. As previously shared, the project is anticipated to last
six to seven weeks during overnight hours, beginning in the intersection and
moving east on the westbound side of Hollister. During the evening, there
will be lane closures to accommodate construction and during the day, the
trench will be covered with heavy plates so all travel lanes will be
open. While work is in the middle of the intersection, no left hand turns
will be allowed. Instead, to make a left turn, drivers will need
to use alternative routes around the Market Place using Santa Felicia or by
accessing US 101 from Los Carneros. All Market Place driveway entrances
and through lanes on Storke and Hollister will remain open. Message
boards are installed advising drivers of alternative routes and are noted on
the map below. Work in the intersection will last about 7-10 days.
The remainder of the work will require a lane closure on westbound Hollister
during the overnight hours.
As a reminder, work will include saw cutting through the
asphalt and underlying concrete from the previous highway (before US 101 was
constructed) and may be heard by residents in adjacent neighborhoods. We
appreciate the public’s patience and understanding during this important public
infrastructure improvement.
