Draft EIR for proposed CHP facility available

The State of California has released the Draft Environmental Impact Report for the proposed California Highway Patrol Office facilities at 7400 Hollister Avenue

On October 30, 2015, the California Department of Governmental Services (DGS) released the Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the CHP replacement facility.  The public review period commenced on October 30, 2015 and will end on Monday, December 28, 2015. The Draft EIR and related documents can be accessed at http://chp-ceqa.com/santa-barbara.   Further, DGS will be hosting a community meeting on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 6 pm at the Goleta Valley Community Center located at 5679 Hollister Avenue, Goleta, CA 93117.  Comments on the document should be directed to:

The State of California is proposing to construct a new California Highway Patrol facility at 7400 Hollister Avenue. This is a State of California project and not a City project.  As such, the City’s purview is limited to providing comments on the adequacy of the analysis contained within the Draft EIR and the City does not have discretionary approval power over the project. The link to the State document is provided as a courtesy to Goleta residents so that this information is readily available to the community.
