New temporary Doyle Drive roadway alignment starts this weekend
Golden Gate Bridge District sent this bulletin at 05/09/2014 03:14 PM PDTWork on a new temporary alignment of the south approach to the Golden Gate Bridge starts this weekend. Single-lane closures on Highways 1 and 101 will occur on Saturday beginning at 9:00pm and the northbound ramp from Highway 1 to 101 will be closed from 1:00am to 6:00am on Sunday. These closures will allow for a shift of traffic to the new temporary alignment which will be in place for about a month. The work is part of Caltrans' Doyle Drive replacement project.
When the new alignment is in place, motorists on northbound Highway 101 wishing to access the "Last San Francisco Exit" (Merchant Road/GGB Toll Plaza) MUST use the rightmost lane. Otherwise, they will be in "through traffic" lanes and forced to cross the Bridge.
All Golden Gate Transit buses will use the rightmost lane and continue to serve the northbound Toll Plaza bus stop.
