GGF will NOT begin Tiburon-San Francisco commute service on Monday

The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District Board of Directors did not vote to approve the agreement which would allow Golden Gate Ferry to assume Tiburon-San Francisco commute service from Blue & Gold Fleet.

On Thursday, January 26th, the Bridge District was surprised to receive notification from Angel Island Tiburon Ferry Company of pending litigation if the Board approved the agreement. In response to this notification, the Board of Directors has withdrawn the motion to execute the agreement and has provided direction to staff to further negotiate the lease terms.

In light of the threat of litigation from Angel Island Tiburon Ferry Company and due to any ensuing negotiations, it is uncertain if or when Golden Gate Ferry will assume service.

There is no certain timeline when this process will conclude. Blue & Gold Fleet will continue to provide service to Tiburon residents until further notice.

For more information, visit www.goldengate.org or call 511 (say "Golden Gate Transit," then "operator" to bypass recorded messages)/TDD 711. The Golden Gate Customer Service Center is open weekdays from 7am to 6pm.
