Victorian Easter Egg Hunt

Join The Glendale Historical Society for outdoor-friendly festivities kicking off with an Easter Egg Hunt on the rolling lawns of the Doctors House Museum in Brand Park. Celebrations include traditional Victorian games, children's story time, freshly baked cookies, and an opportunity to be greeted by the Easter Bunny!
As an added bonus, children young and old will find delight in a magic show at our gazebo.
Guests are encouraged to attend in their Easter finest, and children who wish to join in the Easter Egg Hunt should bring their own baskets. Guests are also welcome to bring their own family picnics to enjoy on the beautiful lawns.

 Art Exhibit: Soft Surrealism by Mandy Palasik
Adams Square Mini Park Gas Station 1020 E. Palmer Ave., Glendale, CA 91205 through April 18, 2025
A new art exhibit, Soft Surrealism by Mandy Palasik, is now on display at the Adams Square Mini Park Gas Station through April 18, 2025. This abstract sculpture features biomorphic inflatables magnetically connected to form amoeba-like creations. The light-weight PVC pieces are arranged to expand and contract in the gas station, activating the corners, and framing views on all four sides. At night, colorful beams of light activate the shapes to create an alluring form that changes with each perspective.
This temporary art installation is sponsored by the Glendale Arts and Culture Commission with funding from the Urban Art Program, and support from Glendale Library, Arts & Culture, Glendale Community Services & Parks, and the Adams Hill Neighborhood Association.

"Rock This Park" Geology Hike
Deukmejian Wilderness Park 3429 Markridge Road Glendale, CA 91214 May 3, 2025 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
We will learn about the rock, earthquake faults, spoil piles and water flow dynamics of Deukmejian Wilderness Park. Our guide, John Given, is a geologist with the U.S. Geological Survey in Pasadena. This hike will occur on moderately steep trails with stops for discussion. Wear sturdy shoes, protective clothing, and bring water. In case of rain, this event will be cancelled. Space is limited. Join the Trail Safety Patrol
As a Trail Safety Patrol (TSP) volunteer for the City of Glendale, you'll play a vital role in enhancing public safety and protecting resources across the city's parks. Your presence and assistance will help improve visitors' experience while ensuring a safe environment. The TSP consists of two units: the Mountain Bike Unit and the Hike Unit.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Complete a background check and City-mandated trail safety training
- Attend a First Aid/CPR certification course
- Be in good physical health
- Commit to a minimum of two hours per month

With a different nature theme each month, this FREE family nature program is all about getting outdoors and exploring! Join us for an interpretive hike, a nature craft, and a tour of the Stone Barn Nature Center. Water, snacks and free bus transportation from Pacific Park Community Center, leaving at 8:30 AM and returning at 12:30 PM, are provided. Everyone is encouraged to ride the bus, but you may choose to meet us at the park. Funding for the bus is provided by Metro, a partner in our community.
Each person planning to attend must submit an RSVP form by April 9 @ 3:00 PM, including children and adults.

Glendale Youth Alliance (GYA) is Accepting Applications

Glendale Youth Alliance provides paid work experience to youth ages 14-24. GYA programs make special effort in assisting youth with barriers to employment such as foster youth, youth with disabilities, homeless youth, parenting youth, and those who are on probation.
Eligible youth are enrolled, placed in paid jobs in a variety of industries, case managed and mentored. Currently GYA is accepting applications to several programs. Applications are accessible via GYA website at GlendaleYouthAlliance.com.
The Summer Employment Program offers paid work experience to youth ages 14-24 during summer break.
Paid jobs for students with disabilities and/or health conditions for ages 16-21.
Glendale Youth Alliance offers incentive for employers who are willing to host youth at their site, train, mentor and offer an opportunity for employment. Grant funds cover youth worker wages and workers compensation for the initial 120-200 hours (depending on the program).

Make Your Reservations for Indoor and Outdoor Parks Facilities
You can view availability of most facilities and book picnic reservations online! Please visit MyGlendaleParks.com to book your picnic reservation online and hold your preferred facility/date for a nonrefundable deposit of $50.00. Once held, a customer service representative will reach out to process your full payment and confirm the reservation. The deposit will be applied towards your picnic fees at the time of confirmation.
We take reservations for rental of community center spaces, the Civic Auditorium, community buildings within parks, picnic areas, and wedding venues. Jumpers/Bouncers are allowed with a jumper permit and facility permit. We look forward to serving you and meeting your rental needs!
