A Message from the City Manager, Roubik Golanian
As we transition into the fall season, it's a time when we can gather with family, friends and neighbors to participate in community events and activities.
We have organized various events throughout October. First, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so keep your eyes peeled for our City vehicles, wrapped in pink to show our support. October is also Fire Prevention Week, and this year’s theme is “Cooking safety starts with YOU!” The Fire Department will share information to help you be safe. The Great ShakeOut is also taking place this month encouraging the community’s participation in earthquake drills.
I invite you to participate in these events. Your involvement is what makes our city vibrant. Let's embrace the beauty of fall together and make this season one to remember. Thank you for being a part of our community.
Happy Fall, but don't hurt yourself!

Upcoming Community Meetings on Proposed Electric Rate Adjustments
GWP is proposing an increase in the electric rates to take effect December 1, 2023, July 1, 2024 and July 1, 2025 averaging 14.8%, 11.3% and 11.3% respectively. The proposed electric rate adjustments are needed to ensure the electric utility maintains financial stability and has enough funds to pay the debt service on the bonds that will be used over the next three years for projects such as the City Solar Build, Grayson Repowering, Scholl Biogas and others, and to cover general increase in costs of renewable energy, wholesale purchased power, and fuel.
GWP will have the following community meetings and present at GWP's upcoming Commission Meeting:
