Crescenta Valley Fireworks Show
Still don't have plans for the 4th of July? We encourage you to attend the fireworks show at Crescenta Valley High School, hosted by the Crescenta Valley Fireworks Association. The field will open at 4:00 p.m., and the show will begin around 9:10 p.m.
You may purchase presale tickets for $9.00 each, or pay $10.00 on the day of the event. Active military and children 7 years of age and under are free!

Glendale Cruise Night
In the Heart of Glendale on Brand Blvd July 15, 2023 5:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
The 28th Annual Cruise Night Event will be held on Saturday, July 15 from 5:30 – 10:30 p.m. Join us in the heart of Glendale on Brand Blvd. to see hundreds of classic and import/modified cars, while listening to the live performances on the main stage. The evening includes vendor booths, giveaways, activities for kids, and FUN! Restaurants in the area will all be open to satisfy your hunger during the event. We’ve added 2 additional weeks of Nature Camp at the Stone Barn! Campers will gain appreciation for the nature in their own backyards through exploration of the Stone Barn Nature Center and the rugged 700 acres that Deukmejian Wilderness Park has to offer. Each week campers will have hands-on experiences, including guided hikes, sketching in their nature journal, getting up close and personal with a 200-year-old oak tree, practicing wilderness survivals, and may even get a little bit dirty!
Days: Monday – Friday Ages: 6 – 12 (Child must be 6 years old by August 11, 2023)
Additional Sessions:
Session 5: July 17-21 Dinoflight: Come learn about the modern dinosaur: birds!!! We will look at the similarities of native California birds & their friends who roamed Earth long ago!
Session 6: July 24-28 Nature's Artists: Join us for a week chock full of art while frolicking in nature!

National Night Out 2023

The annual Glendale Police Department’s 2023 National Night Out will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event will be held at Pacific Community Center, located at 501 S. Pacific, Glendale, CA 91204. National Night Out is usually held on the first Tuesday in August.
National Night Out is a community-driven event where neighbors get to know each other and share concerns, strategies, and ideas for safer communities. The Glendale Police Department, the Glendale Fire Department, members of the Glendale City Council and City Officials will visit these events to hear concerns, ideas, and explore how they might work together to improve the safety of their neighborhoods.

We are excited that the Glendale Gators swim team is continuing this summer. The Glendale Polo Bears water polo team and the Junior Lifeguard Academy are being offered this summer along with group and private rentals.

Wading Pools
Wading Pools are small 1-2 feet deep pools designed for children 8 years and under. There are 5 wading pools throughout the city that will open for drop-by use on June 12 on a rotating basis. You can reserve a wading pool for your private party, too! We are now taking reservations for wading pool rentals from June through September, depending on staff and facility availability. Wading pools can be rented for your private birthday party or small gathering. Rates are $100 for the first hour of swimming, and $25 for every additional hour of swimming. You can also pay $40 to secure the designated tables close to the wading pool during your swim time. Please call (818) 937-7433 for a reservation.

The Glendale Historical Society (TGHS) presents Architecture as Art
Doctors House Museum at Brand Park 1601 W. Mountain St., Glendale, CA 91201 June 4, 2023 - November 26, 2023
Participate in a tour of the Doctors House and view the new exhibit, “Architecture as Art,” featuring artists’ visual interpretations of significant historic structures throughout the city of Glendale. The exhibit will run from June 4, 2023 through November 26, 2023.
The exhibit features original artwork of historic and architecturally significant Glendale buildings, be they homes, commercial/institutional or other built landmarks, still standing or demolished.
At the close of the exhibit, TGHS will sell the donated artwork, with proceeds to support the Museum and its collections.

Teen Night Out

Teen Night Out (TNO) occurs every Friday night from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Pacific Community Center. Teen Night Out provides a safe place for teens to hang out and enjoy activities like video games, ping pong, use of a computer lab, and karaoke. On some dates, a workshop is conducted starting at 6:00 p.m. as part of Teen Night Out. Light refreshments will be served. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Are you interested in being a Trail Safety Patrol volunteer for the City of Glendale?
As a Trail Safety Patrol (TSP) volunteer, you have a unique opportunity to assist the City of Glendale by providing public assistance and resource protection. Your influence on park visitors will enhance their experience and safety while in our parks.
TSP volunteers must be 18 years of age, undergo a background check and City-mandated trail safety training, be in good health, and devote a minimum of four hours per month. If interested, please send an email to trails@glendaleca.gov.

Maple Inclusive Play Day (MIP Day) creates an opportunity for families with children of all abilities to come to the park, network with each other and allow their children to socialize, all centered around the Shane’s Inspiration all-inclusive playground. Virtual Presentation for Seniors
LA Found Tracking Bracelets July 12, 2023 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
In collaboration with Los Angeles County Aging & Disabilities Department and Alzheimer’s Los Angeles, CSP will host an in-person and virtual presentation on LA Found Tracking Bracelets. The presentation will provide participants with information on how to obtain trackable bracelets to help locate individuals with Alzheimer’s and learn how this program works.

Fitness Classes for Seniors
Exercise and fitness classes for seniors are offered virtually and in person at three locations: Adult Recreation Center, Pacific Community Center, and Sparr Heights Community Center. Classes include aerobics, slow stretch, Zumba, line dancing, and muscle toning.

Senior Mixer
Adult Recreation Center 201 E. Colorado St., Glendale, CA 91204 Every other Friday 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
If you like to salsa, cha-cha, rumba, waltz or boogie, this is the place to be. This senior mixer takes place every other Friday and is a great opportunity to socialize with fellow seniors in the greater Glendale community, make new acquaintances, and have a good time. A suggested donation of $3.00 is collected at the entrance to the mixer. This is a gratuity that is given to the DJ at the end of each event.
