Paying for Parking Just Got Easier in Glendale!
Public Works is excited to offer a new way to pay for parking with the PayByPhone App! This app provides customers with an easy way to pay for parking, including with credit/debit cards at metered spaces, along with helpful features like time expiration alerts, adding time remotely to the meter before it expires, storing several payment methods and license plates, and receiving a receipt by text/email. The PayByPhone App is now available in Montrose and around Glendale Community College. We expect to have this feature available in Downtown Glendale this Summer!

The Gas Assistance Fund is a joint effort of SoCalGas® and United Way of Greater Los Angeles, which works with non-profit organizations to manage the program. Public Works recently participated in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 2023 Pacific Southwest Student Symposium (PSWS) at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Glendale's Civil Engineer and CSUN Alumnus, Rustom Tavitian, served as one of the judges alongside other industry professionals.
|
Civil engineering university students from the region put their academic concepts to the ultimate test in the Simpson Strong Tie Timber Design Build Competition.
The competition required student teams to design and build an artistically creative 2-story wood-light-framed, sustainable, aesthetically pleasing, and structurally durable building. Public Works consistently supports and creates connections with local students and educational institutions to further advocate for advancements in infrastructure and construction methods. They are our future engineers, and the future is now. Learn more!

Remember to Bag Organics
Help Glendale divert organics (bread, fruit, vegetables, meat, etc.) from local landfills by placing food scraps and food-soiled paper products (napkins, paper plates, etc.) in a clear bag. Remember to secure the bag before placing it in your organics cart/bin with your yard trimmings.
Why do I have to bag my food scraps? After collection, the bagged food scraps are separated and sent to a different facility than your yard trimmings. The separation process would be very challenging if everything is tossed and mixed in the organics container. Any clear bag will work as long as its contents are visible.
