New Playgrounds Open at Pelanconi and Glenoaks Park
Check out the two new playgrounds recently replaced at Glenoaks Park and Pelanconi Park. Children will love the tall towers with scramble up entries and slides with amenities for both pre-school age (2-5) and school age (5-12) kids.
|
The new amenities are completely accessible with safe, non-slip, soft rubber surfacing, and boast adaptive tandem swings and sensory panels. Both projects incorporated shade structures that cover the playgrounds. A dual sky run zip track was installed at Glenoaks playground for an exciting, new motion play activity that feels like you’re flying through the air. |

Public Works in the News: Engineer Attends Local Science Fair
In January, Viktoriya Pakhanyan, Civil Engineer II, volunteered to serve as a judge at this year’s Incarnation Parish School Science Fair, which resumed after a two-year absence. She and other judges were provided a rubric, worked in pairs, and spent time with each student to learn about their particular project. We hope that the skills learned at the science fair inspire future careers in the field of engineering. Public Works has made a commitment to supporting youth in our community whether it be through the Science Fair, Safe Routes projects, or the Public Works Open House special event!
