NEW Playgrounds Now Open at Pelanconi and Glenoaks Park
Check out the two NEW playgrounds recently replaced at Glenoaks Park and Pelanconi Park. Playgrounds play a vital role for families residing throughout Glendale and both of these playgrounds needed replacement, being over 13 and 20 years old, respectively. Children will love the tall towers with scramble up entries and epic slides, with amenities for both pre-school age (2-5) and school age (5-12) kids. The new amenities are completely accessible with safe, non-slip, soft rubber surfacing, and boast adaptive tandem swings and sensory panels. Both projects have incorporated shade structures that cover the playgrounds, so kids can play all summer long. A dual sky run zip track was installed at Glenoaks playground for an exciting, new motion play activity that feels like you’re flying through the air.
|
These innovative and exciting playgrounds were designed with community input and will now contribute to the vitality and livability of the diverse neighborhoods throughout Glendale!
Both projects were made possible thanks to City Council allocating City General Funds and grant funding.
|
- Pelanconi Park Playground was funded by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and
- Glenoaks Park Playground was funded by Los Angeles County 2016 Measure A.
