From wildfires to wildlife, our backyard is full of exciting and amazing things. Join us to learn about techtonic movement that has created our mountains, the plants and bugs native to the hillsides, and the amazing creatures that roam in our own backyard.
The Barn is available for school field trips, private group tours, and will soon be available for private rentals.

Automated Robotic Electric Mowers Pilot Study
The City of Glendale has partnered with Graze to conduct a pilot study of using fully automated robotic electric mowers at the Glendale Sports Complex and Scholl Canyon Ballfields. This partnership with Graze provides the City an opportunity to get in at the ground level of research and development of automated electric mowing equipment. Parks staff will work with Graze to provide input on the mower’s logistical and operational feasibility, and how they can be best suited for the industry.
The City is dedicated to transitioning maintenance equipment from gas to electric and battery powered. We have successfully transformed 8 park sites to certified green zones, with the rest of the parks being analyzed to move in that direction.
Glendale held a press event on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the Sports Complex, at which time the Graze mower was on display for Glendale leaders.
This is an exciting project, and Glendale is proud to be a part of it.
