Glendale has long been a top shopping destination, serving as a testing ground for a number of "first-of-their-kind" retail concepts. Glendale's combination of a diverse population and affluent shoppers is the ideal location for Amazon to open its first-ever Amazon Style fashion store at the Americana at Brand. The store will feature men's and women's fashions along with cutting edge technology that will customize each client's shopping experience. Amazon Style will open later this year.
Glendale is no stranger to Amazon's presence. Shoppers can also visit the "4-Star" store at the Americana at Brand and an Amazon Pop Up at the Glendale Galleria.

The Verdugo Workforce Development Board in partnership with Grifols Biologicals, Biocom Insititute, L.A. Mission College, L.A. Valley College and the Verdugo Jobs Center, established the BioTC Collaborative, offering the region's first certification for biotech and biomanufacturing technicians.
The Collaborative worked with industry leaders including Amgen, Gilead, Takeda, Prolacta, Kite and Neutrogena to design an assessment to determine if candidates have the competencies needed for employment, making it easier for employers to hire entry-level technicians with the right skills to meet their specialized needs.
Funded by the Verdugo Workforce Development Board, the free certification is available to graduates of L.A. Basin bioscience, biotech and other career certificate and degree programs.

DISPOSABLE FOODWARE SURVEY The City of Glendale's Office of Sustainability needs your input on options to reduce the distribution and use of single use plastics in our City. The City is considering regulations that reduce solid waste and the use of certain plastics, including an ordinance prohibiting polystyrene and single use plastic disposable foodservice ware. The City is also exploring the feasibility that food or beverages served for on-site consumption be served on on reusable food wares.
Please take a moment to participate in a short survey about this initiative.
