Senior Mixer
The weekly senior mixer has been on break at the Adult Recreation Center (ARC) since the onset of the pandemic. Since the Adult Recreation Center’s dining hall continues to serve as the hub for the congregate meals program, the senior mixer’s triumphant return took place on Friday, December 10, 2021, but at Pacific Community Center’s gym. The program enables the greater Glendale senior population to socialize and interact and get their bodies moving to music in a friendly and safe environment. Pacific Community Center will continue to host the event once a month, starting in February, until the Adult Recreation Center becomes available. The senior mixer will not be offered in January.

Art Exhibit: You + Me = Community
Adams Square Mini Park Gas Station 1020 E. Palmer Ave., Glendale, CA 91205 Through January 14, 2022
Don't miss the last few days of this holiday exhibit!
The Adams Hill Neighborhood Association, in coordination with the Community Services & Parks Department, is sponsoring a holiday exhibit at the landmark Richfield Gas Station in Adams Square Mini Park. The exhibit, called “You + Me = Community”, was installed by artist Cathy Hrenda and will be on display until January 14, 2022. The display was inspired by Inuit-created Inukshuk stone monuments found in the Arctic. Inukshuk made in the shape of a person signify safety, hope and friendship. The artist replaced the traditional stones with cardboard boxes to create the welcoming spirits of Adams Hill. The cardboard boxes were painted by neighbors who came together in the mini park to help bring life to all welcoming spirits. As in past years, this installation was created mostly from trash, including bottle caps, boxes, and glass crystals. The art display can be viewed at the Adams Square Park located at 1020 E. Palmer Ave., Glendale, CA 91205.
