National Work Zone Awareness Week is an annual reminder that safe actions save lives. Each year, thousands of people are injured in roadway work zones, many of whom are workers simply doing their jobs to keep our communities running.
Here in the City of Galt, our Public Works crews, utility staff, and maintenance teams are out every day improving roads, maintaining infrastructure, and keeping essential services operating safely and efficiently. When you see work zones, please slow down, stay alert, and eliminate distractions. A moment of caution can make all the difference for someone’s life.
Every worker is someone’s family member who showed up to do a job and deserves to return home safely at the end of the day.
Kaiser Permanente is providing community health services in Galt on the second and fourth Friday of each month.
These monthly clinics are hosted at the Galt Parks & Recreation Office, located at 610 Chabolla Avenue in Galt. Services are available from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a lunch closure from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. Please note that schedules may vary, and participants are encouraged to call ahead to confirm availability before visiting.
A key feature of this program is the availability of free flu shots for all community members, including both Kaiser Permanente members and non-members. Flu shots are offered through June 2026, while supplies last.
In addition, Kaiser Permanente members have access to a range of preventive health services during clinic hours. These include blood pressure checks, routine A1C blood draws (no fasting required), and preventive vaccinations, including updated COVID-19 vaccines for those who are eligible.
