Mark your calendars for a day of hands-on fun at the Saturday Market Touch-A-Truck & Safety Expo on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
This interactive event gives children the chance to see emergency and service vehicles up close, climb aboard, and learn how they support the community. It’s also a great opportunity to meet the professionals who operate them and discover more about local safety services. Visitors can also enjoy the lively atmosphere of the Saturday Market, featuring live music, great food, and local vendors throughout the morning and afternoon.
The Saturday Market takes place on the first Saturday of each month from March through November at 4th and C Streets in Galt, bringing residents and visitors together to shop, eat, and connect with local vendors and organizations.
Vehicle Owners Wanted Do you have a vehicle that people—especially kids—would love to explore? The event is currently seeking vehicles of all kinds to participate in the Touch-A-Truck experience. From construction and service vehicles to unique specialty trucks, your vehicle could help create a memorable experience for local families.

Drivers should be aware that new stop signs and a crosswalk will be installed at the intersection of Carillion Boulevard and Boessow Road, creating a four-way stop. The changes are scheduled to take effect the week of March 23.
A Traffic Control Device Evaluation conducted by Public Works confirmed that the intersection meets the necessary requirements for a four-way stop.
A message board is currently posted on Boessow Road to alert drivers of the upcoming change. Please use caution and be prepared for the new traffic pattern when traveling through this area.
Our Public Works team recently visited Estrellita High School to share insights with students about careers and opportunities with the City of Galt. The team is passionate about community outreach and connecting with young residents, inspiring them to consider careers in public service.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the team’s day-to-day activities, the types of projects they handle, and what it’s like to work in the department. Our Public Works staff plan to visit additional schools and continue these presentations throughout the year.
