Nothing compares to the taste of locally grown produce! At the Galt Market, we are proud to feature more than 90 produce vendors offering a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, all sourced from local farms. Many vendors even provide free samples, giving you the chance to taste the freshness and quality before you buy. It’s the perfect way to try something new, discover unique flavors, and shop with confidence.
But our produce vendors do more than provide healthy, delicious options—they also give back to the community. Each month, several vendors partner with the Galt Market and local nonprofit Helping Hand Association to supply fresh produce for sale at the Garden Partners booth during the Galt Saturday Market. A portion of the proceeds benefits Helping Hand Association, supporting their efforts to advocate for seniors and veterans.
This September, we want to extend a special thank you to our monthly reserved produce vendors who generously donated: Cal-Mex, Dimitra, Elpamtera, J.R., Los 5 Hermanos, Loza, Macias, and Ricos Produce.
When you shop at the Galt Market, you’re not only taking home fresh, seasonal ingredients—you’re also supporting local farmers, strengthening community programs, and celebrating the agricultural heritage that makes Galt unique.
Come, shop, eat, and enjoy the best produce the season has to offer!
The City of Galt would like to remind the business community of the requirements outlined in the Galt Municipal Code regarding business licenses. Under Title 5 – Business Taxes, Licenses, and Regulations, all businesses, trades, professions, or occupations operating within the City must obtain a valid business license.
In recent years, there has been some confusion due to changes in the City’s business license vendors and renewal process. To help clarify the process, City staff will be visiting local businesses to:
-
Verify that current business licenses are properly displayed, as required by City Code
-
Provide information on how to apply for or renew a license
-
Support businesses by ensuring they have the resources needed to remain compliant
For more information on applying for or renewing your business license, please click the button below or contact the Finance Department at 209-366-7150 or finance@cityofgalt.org.
As summer comes to a close, preparations for next year are already underway!
Crews are hard at work assembling the new waterslide, approved by the Galt City Council and funded through Measure Q, for the 2026 swim season.
This exciting addition is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance recreational opportunities for the community.
The Sports Complex Playground closed this week as construction began on brand-new equipment. The playground will remain closed until further notice from Galt’s Parks & Recreation Department.
Upgrades will include:
-
Inclusive play elements for children of all abilities
-
ADA-accessible main structures
-
New shade features to enhance comfort for visitors
We’re thrilled to bring these improvements to the community and appreciate your patience while we make the playground better than ever. Stay tuned for updates!
Beginning in Spring 2026, the turf along ‘E’ Stockton Boulevard, from Twin Cities Road to Amador Avenue, will be removed as part of a landscape upgrade. The new design will feature low-water, drought-tolerant plants and shrubs, supported by a drip irrigation system that conserves water and reduces maintenance.
This project reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to creating greener, more sustainable streetscapes. We appreciate the dedication of our Parks & Recreation team in bringing this transformation to life.
Stay tuned for project updates!
