The City of Galt has been honored with the 2025 Project of the Year Award from the American Public Works Association (APWA) for the C Street Enhancement Project. The award was presented during the APWA luncheon on Friday, August 8, in Sacramento.
Established to celebrate excellence in public works management, the Project of the Year Award recognizes the successful collaboration between the managing agency, consultant/architect/engineer, and contractor.
The City earned this recognition in the Transportation category for transforming C Street with a series of significant improvements, including ADA-compliant sidewalks, protected bike lanes, upgraded drainage systems, decorative lighting, and enhanced landscaping.
A special congratulations goes to Trung Trinh, C Street Project Manager and the City’s Public Works Deputy Director, for his exceptional leadership in bringing this project to completion.

Artists and creatives of all ages, mark your calendars! Chalk the Walk & Roll is coming to the Galt Saturday Market on September 6th, and we want you to help bring 4th Street to life with vibrant color and imagination.
Participants will create unique sidewalk art pieces using chalk, transforming the 4th Street Promenade into a community art gallery for all to enjoy. Whether you’re a professional artist or simply love to doodle, this is your chance to showcase your creativity in a fun, interactive event.

Do you love basketball and want to make a difference in your community? The City of Galt’s youth basketball program is seeking volunteer coaches to guide, mentor, and support young athletes from 1st through 8th grade this season.
This is a rewarding opportunity to share your knowledge of the game, foster teamwork, and help young players develop both on and off the court.

The City of Galt has long benefited from the involvement of residents in many civic activities. One of the ways that our residents can be involved is by serving on one of various City Commissions or Committees. There are several opportunities available, serving different areas of interest.
Current vacancies include: – Galt Youth Commission – Adult Mentor: Two vacancies; terms end December 2026 – Beautification Committee: One vacancy; term ends December 2028 Outside Agency: – Sacramento Environmental Commission (SEC): One vacancy; term ends June 2027. This position requires approval by the City Councils of Galt, Folsom, and Isleton.
Applications are being accepted in the City Clerk’s Office and will remain open until positions are filled.
The Galt Commission on Aging invites you to meet directly with Commissioners to share your questions, concerns, and ideas about services and resources for seniors in our community. Commissioners are here to listen, provide guidance, and ensure your input helps shape initiatives that support and enhance the quality of life for Galt’s senior residents.
