Let’s come together this Tuesday to celebrate, connect, and continue building a stronger, safer Galt—one neighborhood at a time.
While residents and visitors enjoyed Independence Day events, the City of Galt Code Enforcement Division, Galt Police Department, and Cosumnes Fire Department partnered to reduce the use of illegal fireworks in our community. This year, our enforcement teams used drone technology to help identify illegal fireworks activity and respond quickly to any violations.
Enforcement Highlights:
- Multiple locations identified for illegal firework activity by drone enforcement
- 87 firework-related calls for service received and responded to by Galt PD
- $310,000 in total administrative fines issued
Under the updated ordinance, each illegal firework used, possessed, or ignited is treated as a separate violation. The fine for a first offense is $1,000, with each additional offense also resulting in a $1,000 fine. Penalties apply not only to those using illegal fireworks but also to property owners, renters, or event hosts who allow them on their premises.
We want to thank our residents and business community for helping us spread the word about Galt’s updated fireworks ordinance. Your continued support plays a vital role in keeping our community safe.
The City of Galt and Chandler Gross Group invite you to a fun-filled evening as the Summer Movie Series continues with a special screening of Cars.
Bring your family, friends, and neighbors to Veterans Field for this free outdoor movie event. Concessions will be available for purchase from the Galt Jr. Warriors—treat yourself to snacks and drinks while supporting local youth sports programs.
