We are excited to announce that the Galt City Council has approved the replacement of the playground at the Sports Complex Park. The new playground will feature inclusive play elements, ADA-accessible main structures, and added shade structures to improve the overall park experience.
More information, including construction timelines and the anticipated completion date, will be shared as the project progresses.
Disclaimer: The included rendering is for illustrative purposes only and does not represent the final design. Elements shown are conceptual and subject to change based on further planning, approvals, and project requirements.
In the coming days, a survey will be included with your utility bill. This is an important opportunity to share your input on the City’s current regulations regarding the parking and storage of boats, RVs, trailers, and unregistered or inoperable vehicles on residential properties.
Under the existing code, these types of vehicles are not permitted to be parked or stored in front of residential properties. The Galt City Council is currently considering potential updates to this regulation, and your feedback will help guide future decisions. Whether you support maintaining the current rules or believe changes are necessary, your voice is valuable.
How to Complete and Submit Your Survey
You may complete the survey in one of two ways:
-
Online: Scan the QR code included with your utility bill to take the survey electronically.
-
Paper Survey: Fill out the paper survey enclosed in your utility bill and return it either by mail with your utility payment or by dropping it off in the designated drop box located outside City Hall at 380 Civic Drive.
Survey Deadline: Monday, July 7, 2025

The Cal-Waste team will be conducting a visual inspection of residential waste carts throughout the City of Galt on Monday, June 17. This monitoring effort is part of the City’s ongoing compliance with Senate Bill 1383 (SB 1383), a state law aimed at reducing organic waste and fighting climate change.
During the inspection, Cal-Waste staff will briefly open cart lids to check for proper sorting of materials in the trash, recycling, and organics containers. Depending on the contents, residents may receive one of the following tags:
These tags are intended to educate and assist residents with improving their waste sorting practices. They are not citations or fines.
Why It Matters SB 1383 requires all California cities to perform annual contamination monitoring. Proper sorting of recyclables and organic materials helps reduce landfill waste and greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to a healthier environment for everyone.
Thank you for supporting a cleaner, greener Galt.
For more information on SB 1383 and proper waste sorting, visit cityofgalt.org or contact the Public Works Department at publicworks@cityofgalt.org.
