Looking for family fun this Spring Break? Make plans to join us for two exciting days of festivities at the Galt Market Spring Break Carnival, happening April 15 & 16!
From 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the Galt Market West Parking Lot will be transformed into a lively carnival with bounce houses, pony rides, train rides, local vendors, and delicious food. There’s something for everyone—whether you're in the mood for adventure or just want to explore and shop.
Don't miss your chance to snap a free photo with the Easter Bunny from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM each day—perfect for capturing a special Spring Break memory with the whole family.
Please note: Cash only is accepted for all activities and purchases. Additional fees apply for carnival attractions.

The Galt Parks & Recreation Department is proud to announce a special tribute for this year’s parade — a float dedicated to honoring the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. And we need your help to make it truly meaningful.
We invite you to submit photos of the military heroes in your life, whether they are currently serving or have served in the past. Every branch of the military will be represented and honored as part of this display.
Photo Submission Guidelines:
- High-resolution images only
- Sized 5x7 or 8x10
- Limited to the first 200 entries

Take a proactive step in safeguarding your personal information—don’t toss it, shred it! The City of Galt invites you to participate in our Annual Shred Event on Saturday, April 12, from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Galt Market Grounds.
This free event offers City of Galt residents a safe and secure way to dispose of confidential documents. Whether you're clearing out old files, bills, or paperwork, shredding helps reduce the risk of identity theft and protects your privacy.
What to Bring:
- Up to three standard storage boxes or one garbage bag filled with documents for shredding

Proof of residency within Galt city limits (e.g., driver’s license or utility bill)
This event is open to residents within the city limits of Galt only. Please be prepared to show proof of residency upon arrival.

Yard Sales in Galt – What You Need to Know
With spring in full swing and summer just around the corner, garage and yard sales are a great way for Galt residents to declutter and connect with neighbors. To help keep our city looking its best, we wanted to review the City of Galt’s guidelines for yard sales and signage, as outlined in Municipal Code Chapter 18.56.
Guidelines:
- Up to 2 sales per year per household
- Each sale can last no more than 3 days
- Sales should take place on residential properties

1 sign allowed per sale
- Sign should be no larger than 6 square feet
- Please avoid attaching signs to utility poles or street signs

Looking to make a positive impact in your community? Join the Galt Beautification Committee and Sacramento County's Tobacco Education & Prevention Program for the Galt Community Cleanup on Saturday, April 19th, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Marian O. Lawrence Library, 1000 Caroline Avenue, Galt, CA 95632.
Volunteers will receive snacks, beverages, and a $10 gift card as a thank you for their time and efforts. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and bring your enthusiasm!
Important Note: If you’re under 18, please bring a parent or guardian to sign a permission slip on-site.

The Galt Youth Commission (GYC) is now accepting applications for both student members and an adult mentor!
For Students: The GYC is composed of 12 high school students (grades 9–12) appointed by the City Council to serve as youth advocates and promote community service. The Commission’s mission is to encourage youth participation in civic activities, foster community engagement, and strengthen connections within the City of Galt.
If you're currently in 8th–11th grade and live within the Galt Joint Union High School District boundaries, this is a great opportunity to gain leadership experience, develop civic engagement skills, and make your voice heard in your community.
Interested in learning more? Attend a Galt Youth Commission meeting—held on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 PM at City Hall—to see how these students are making a difference.

For Adults: We are also seeking one adult mentor to join the Galt Youth Commission. This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about youth development and community involvement to support and guide the next generation of leaders.

Galt Gators Recreational Swim Team For swimmers, ages 4-18, who want to improve their skills and participate in swim meets with other recreational teams during the season, combining team sports with individual improvement.

Decorating Workshop- Easter Bunny Cake Hop into the Easter spirit with this one-day cake decorating class for kids ages 6-14! Young bakers will decorate their own two-layer 8" Easter Bunny cake using pastel frosting, fun piping techniques, and festive decorations.

Baking Class- Homemade Apple Pie In this hands-on Kids Baking Class for ages 6-14, young bakers will learn to make a delicious 9" apple pie from scratch—flaky crust and all! Each child will prepare, bake, and take home their very own homemade apple pie

Young Bakers Academy Camp Kids ages 6-14 will bake delicious treats while learning from expert pastry chefs. This interactive camp builds baking skills, boosts confidence, and encourages creativity—all while having fun and taking home tasty creations. |
Kids' Art Classes For ages 6-10, students will explore pastels, colored pencils, and paint while learning to balance shapes and apply highlights and lowlights, all in a positive environment that encourages and celebrates individual creativity.

Kids' Painting Classes For ages 9-12 & 8-10, students will learn painting techniques and add details with acrylic paint on canvas panels, with each painting taking multiple classes to complete—encouraging individual creativity and unique style!

Teen Painting Classes Teens and tweens will explore acrylic painting techniques, focusing on blending, layering, and adding highlights and lowlights to create depth. Perfect for beginners, intermediate, and advanced painters!

Bunny Watercolor One-Day Class Join us on April 17th for a fun, one-day Bunny Watercolor Class! Kids ages 6-10 will create adorable bunny-themed artwork using pencils and watercolor paint.

Whale Pastel Drawing One-Day Class Join us on May 3rd for a fun, one-day Whale Pastel Drawing Class! Kids ages 5-9 will create a whale and other sea life using pastels while learning to balance shapes and layer colors with highlights.

Rainbow Tree Painting One-Day Class Join us on June 7th for a creative Rainbow Tree Painting Class! Kids ages 5-9 will paint a vibrant rainbow tree while learning to blend colors and add depth with shading—all while enjoying music in a fun and inspiring environment.

Mermaid Drawing One-Day Class Join us on June 12th for a magical Mermaid Drawing Class! Kids ages 5-9 will learn to draw mermaids using colored art pencils, focusing on balancing figures and adding detailed features to bring their creations to life.
