As many residents have likely noticed, the City of Galt has several housing developments currently under construction. These projects are the result of years of planning in accordance with the City's General Plan, which serves as the guiding document for development. Every city in California is required to adopt and follow a General Plan to guide land use and development in their cities.Â
One of the most significant projects is the Liberty Ranch master-planned community, which was initially approved in 2016. Liberty Ranch is located along Marengo Road, south of Twin Cities Road, and includes over 1,400 single-family homes and more than 200 multi-family units. The first subdivision within Liberty Ranch is nearing completion, with Meritage Homes currently constructing model homes. These model homes will be open to the public the weekend of March 8. Liberty Ranch will also feature a school site, a trail system, and multiple parks, making it a well-rounded community for future residents.
Another development under construction is the Parlin Oaks community, which is being built by Blue Mountain Communities. This small-lot subdivision is located west of Carillion Boulevard along Walnut Drive. Parlin Oaks homes range in size from 1,434 to 1,512 square feet, with prices starting in the mid-$ 400,000 range.
Lennar Homes is completing the Greenwood Cottages subdivision along Carillion Boulevard behind the Carillion Corners shopping center (Tractor Supply). The Greenwood Cottages community offers two- and three-story homes ranging from 1,328 to 2,072 square feet, with prices starting in the high $400,000s.
Looking ahead, additional homesites will be available in the Elliott Ranch development being constructed by Elliott Homes, and the Summerfield development, a gated community being developed by Lennar Homes. Homes in both the Summerfield and Elliott Ranch subdivisions are expected to become available this summer.
A map is available on the City’s website at www.CityofGalt.org/DevelopmentProjects for a visual representation of these and other residential projects.

We’re excited to kick off the first edition of Discover Galt with some big news—our very own Pastosa by Lucia has earned a well-deserved spot on Yelp’s Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S. for 2025, ranking an impressive #36! This is a remarkable achievement for a local restaurant that has been serving authentic Italian flavors straight from the heart of its founder, Lucia.
Pastosa by Lucia’s journey began in Cosenza, Italy, where Lucia’s love for cooking blossomed at just 12 years old in a nunnery kitchen. By 18, she traveled to America, blending traditional Italian recipes with fresh inspirations. What started as a personal dream evolved into a family affair with Skip, who crafts the restaurant’s signature pasta, and their daughter Gabriella, a UC Berkeley Haas graduate, who plays a key role in growing the business and sharing her love for pasta through hands-on classes. Together, this dream team brings passion, tradition, and creativity to every dish, making Pastosa a true Galt treasure.
Learn more about their story here.
Pastosa's philosophy is simple: great food starts with great ingredients. Their partnership with local farmers ensures that every dish is packed with flavor. From vine-ripened tomatoes to freshly picked basil, each ingredient tells a story of sustainability, community, and passion. Their menu offers a variety of homemade pastas, lasagna, ravioli, and sauces, with the option to take home uncooked pasta to prepare yourself.
The City of Galt extends its congratulations to Pastosa by Lucia on this well-deserved recognition! Visit them Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, at 545 Industrial Drive, Ste 100, Galt, CA 95632.
This is just the beginning for Discover Galt! We can’t wait to share more stories about the incredible businesses and people who make our community special. Stay tuned for more local highlights coming soon!
