Galt Voter Information for 2024
The Galt City Council will not meet on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5. It is scheduled to convene normally on Tuesday, November 19.
Through Election Day, November 5, these Ballot Drop Off locations will be open in Galt:

Congratulations to our City's Finance team which received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, fiscal year ending June 30, 2023.
Presented by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States & Canada, this certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. GFOA stated that the attainment of this certificate represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

Kiwanis Bark Park Grand Re-Opening

We're barking we're so excited! The Grand Re-Opening of our nicely upgraded Kiwanis Club of Galt Bark Park is finally here for all our dog families of Galt to enjoy.
Hoomans, it's time to bring out your pups and compete in *contests for ribbons and prizes, shop the vendors, watch a K-9 demo by Galt Police Department, take cute pics in our photo lounge, enjoy treats from the food truck, and connect with our friendly local dog community. Our kind friends from Wilton Animal Rescue will be on site with future family members for meeting and adoption.
*Contest categories include Best Costume, Dog/Owner Look-Alike, Cutest, Best in Show, Best Personality, Special Talent, and Obedience.
Start wagging those tails and run over to the Grand Re-Opening of Galt's beloved Kiwanis Bark Park, this Saturday at 10 am.

Come on out for the City of Galt's Annual Spookishly Fun Movie Night on Friday, October 25 at Veterans Field. Everyone can enjoy sweets from different Trick or Treat stations and play fun games. We encourage all to wear their favorite family-friendly costumes and stroll around to multiple concessions and attractions. Bring your blankets, chairs, and other cozies for a showing of the Halloween movie classic, Ghostbusters, starting at sunset.
Admission is FREE, the gates at Veterans Field open at 5:45 pm.

Galt Youth Basketball Needs You: Volunteer Coaches
FREE Coaches Training on Saturday, October 26 at the Chabolla Center!
Are you passionate about basketball and looking to make a positive impact in our community? The City of Galt's Youth Basketball Program needs YOUR help.
We are seeking volunteer coaches for Galt's youth basketball teams spanning Grades 1 through 8. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just love the game, we welcome your enthusiasm and dedication to nurturing our young players.
And we make sure that all coaches are equipped to manage a team. We will hold a coaches training session, free of charge on Saturday, October 26 at 9:00 am at the Chabolla Community Center.

1st grade Registration: September 9th - November 25th or until 60 players maximum is reached. $25 late fee will apply November 26th - December 2nd.
2nd - 8th grade Registration: September 9th - October 14th. $25 late fee will apply October 15th - October 21st.
Participants must be registered with Parks & Recreation prior to attending tryouts. Players who are unable to tryout will be placed on a team by lottery.
*Please check your email including junk/spam folder for emails from P&R for updates or changes. One Head Coach and one Assistant Coach can each "freeze" one player per team. Siblings are the only exceptions.

Lighting of the Night: Now Accepting Parade Submissions
We are looking for families, community groups, churches, businesses, bands, dance troupes, karate classes, etc., to be part of this fun event. Create your own unique holiday scene on your designated float or vehicle. Decorate a vehicle, design a fun float, practice your royal wave, and highlight your organization for all the community to see. Traffic Advisory, Lane Shift: Carillion Boulevard

The LANE SHIFT on Carillion Boulevard continues through October 21, so make sure to plan for your travel accordingly.
- For North bound traffic, safety cones indicating the lane taper will begin at Carillion Blvd. and DiMaggio Way.
- Traffic will shift to the west side of Carillion at the intersection of Vintage Oak Ave & Ambroggio Way.
- Traffic returns to normal patterns at the intersection with Walnut Ave.
- For south bound traffic, safety cones for the taper will begin north of Posey Road.
We appreciate your attention to this traffic advisory and your patience for the duration of this lane shift. Please plan your travel accordingly. Watch this space for updates.
