Come on out for the City of Galt's Annual Spookishly Fun Movie Night on Friday, October 25 at Veterans Field. Everyone can enjoy sweets from different Trick or Treat stations and play fun games. We encourage all to wear their favorite family-friendly costumes and stroll around to multiple concessions and attractions. Bring your blankets, chairs, and other cozies for a showing of the Halloween movie classic, Ghostbusters, starting at sunset.
Admission is FREE, the gates at Veterans Field open at 5:45 pm.
Host a Trick or Treat Station on October 25
Calling all local businesses and community groups: Be a part of a fun community event and promote your business at the same time. Host a Trick or Treat station at our Friday, October 25, Spookishly Fun Movie Night. It's a great way to connect with the Galt community in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.  Lighting of the Night: Now Accepting Parade Submissions. We are looking for families, community groups, churches, businesses, bands, dance troupes, karate classes, etc., to be part of this fun event. Create your own unique holiday scene on your designated float or vehicle. Decorate a vehicle, design a fun float, practice your royal wave, and highlight your organization for all of the community to see.  Join us on October 5th, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm for a festive day at our Autumn Celebration Saturday Market. This year's Autumn Celebration will feature numerous vendors with offerings that will help kick off your holiday season gift giving, decorating, and gatherings. We'll have delicious food from vendors near and far, and of course, our own local shops will be present with their specialty goods and services too. Live music is scheduled, which is always a hit with our community and visitors. And, bring your pups - leashed up safely - for a nice stroll on 4th Street Promenade. We hope to see you there. Pumpkin Decorating Contest at the Autumn Celebration
Take your creative side to the next level by taking an ordinary pumpkin and making it into whatever your imagination desires! Hurry and sign up for the October 5th Saturday Market Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Let your creative juices flow at home and then bring your pumpkin on over to the Saturday Market to be showcased at our Autumn Celebration. There will be prizes for the top 3 best decorated pumpkins. Galt's Shop Drink Eat on C Street campaign is in Full Swing, Participate to Get a Free Custom Tote, Enter to Raffle Win a Free Stanley Tumbler
We encourage - and are grateful for - everyone's ongoing support of local businesses along the C Street corridor as construction continues.
As you shop businesses in the C Street Zone, save 15 receipts as proof of purchase from any of your favorite C Street businesses in the Zone.
Then, submit those receipts to the Galt Chamber of Commerce to receive a free custom tote bag. Our Chamber of Commerce is open Monday through Friday from 10 am to 2 pm, located at 400 4th St #130. Then, you'll be entered into a drawing for a super cool custom Stanley Drink Tumbler.
Thanks to all our C Street businesses that will remain open for the duration of the C Street Enhancements Project. Remember that we have many easy access points all around the C Street construction zone for everyone to regularly travel safely and Shop, Drink, and Eat on C Street. We have fantastic businesses throughout our City and are grateful for everyone's continued patronage.

Calling all ballers to the court! Galt Youth Basketball is open for registration.
1st grade Registration: September 9th - November 25th or until 60 players maximum is reached. $25 late fee will apply November 26th - December 2nd.
2nd - 8th grade Registration: September 9th- October 14th. $25 late fee will apply October 15th -October 21st.

Participants must be registered with Parks & Recreation prior to attending tryouts. If your child is unable to tryout, he/she will be placed on a team by lottery. *Please check your email including junk/spam folder for emails from P&R for updates or changes. One Head Coach and one Assistant Coach can each "freeze" one player per team. Siblings are the only exceptions.
We're also calling ALL VOLUNTEERS for coaching. This program relies on the good efforts, time, and patience of our volunteer coaches. To learn the requirements for coaching basketball and other sports for the City of Galt, please click on this link.

Traffic Advisory, Lane Shift: Carillion Boulevard

Please be aware that there will be a LANE SHIFT on Carillion Boulevard so make sure to plan for your travel accordingly.
- For North bound traffic, safety cones indicating the lane taper will begin at Carillion Blvd. and DiMaggio Way.
- Traffic will shift to the west side of Carillion at the intersection of Vintage Oak & Ambroggio Way.
- Traffic returns to normal patterns at the intersection with Walnut Ave.
- For south bound traffic, safety cones for the taper will begin north of Posey Road.
We appreciate your attention to this traffic advisory and your patience for the duration of this lane shift. Please plan your travel accordingly. Watch this space for updates.

Union Pacific Railroad Road Closure Advisory
* A Street: October 1 - 3 * Twin Cities Road: October 3 - 5
A Street: In an advisory to the City of Galt, the Union Pacific Railroad has informed us of a road closure at A Street and the UPRR crossing, between Third and Fourth Streets. Union Pacific anticipates the closure to be in place from Tuesday, October 1 through Thursday, October 3. Detours will be in place.
Twin Cities Road: Also, the Union Pacific Railroad has informed the City of Galt of a road closure at Twin Cities Road and the UPRR crossing, between Midway Ave and W. Stockton Blvd. Union Pacific anticipates the closure to be in place from Thursday, October 3 through Saturday, October 5. Detours will be in place.
We encourage you to plan ahead for your travel needs during these closures of the Union Pacific Railroad.

Only AREA RESIDENTS and ALL EMERGENCY VEHICLES will have access to this vicinity. We encourage everyone to plan accordingly for travel routes. BARK BARK Monterey Park. We are excited to share that the new dog park equipment has been installed. We are in the process of closing the larger dog park to reseed the grass. We anticipate keeping the large dog park closed until the grand reopening on October 12. The small dog park will remain open.

You're invited to attend the Galt City Council meeting on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Meetings are held in the Council Chambers at 380 Civic Drive. Closed session is at 5:00 pm; open session begins at 6:00 pm. Prior to the meeting, review the agenda. If you're not able to attend in person, the City Council meeting will be held remotely via teleconference/electronically in the following ways:

 What's better than eating together? Nothing. But baking together is right up there.
Sign up now for our Young Baker's Academy. For those 6 to 14 years old, young chefs will bake a delicious treat from scratch each week for four weeks. It's perfectly fun for learning new skills in organization, coordination, measurement, following directions, and cooperation.
The cost for the 4-week session is $129. Students bring their own aprons to wear. A $30 material fee is due to the instructor on Day 1 of class. We'll meet at the Chabolla Community Center Kitchen for every class.

 We're happy to present the Fall 2024 edition of the Cookie Monster Workshops. Together, parents and kids will make a dozen cookies from scratch. It's a perfect way to bond, learn, and enjoy tasty treats. Each class begins at 9 am and lasts until 10 am.
