Introducing our new Community Events Calendar!
This calendar is your go-to guide for all the exciting events happening throughout Galt each year. Whether you're looking for family-friendly outings, seasonal celebrations, or local cultural experiences, our calendar has something for everyone.
The calendar showcases a wide range of community-based events sponsored by the City, local government agencies, non-profit organizations, civic groups, and more. Each event listing includes detailed information such as dates, times, locations, and descriptions, making it easy for you to plan your participation.
The goal of our Community Events Calendar is to simplify event planning and promotion, minimize scheduling conflicts, and increase visibility for event organizers. We aim to create a central hub for all events, fostering community spirit and encouraging more resident participation. Event organizers can benefit from greater exposure, while attendees can enjoy a well-organized and diverse range of activities.

The C Street Enhancements project, designed to enhance the overall streetscape and safety of the corridor, is currently experiencing unexpected delays. While some preliminary work has already commenced, the closure of lanes has been postponed due to unforeseen utility repairs.
We understand the importance of keeping the community informed and will continue to provide updates on the project's progress. This includes specific timing regarding lane closures and detours as we receive more information from the contractor. Additionally, an updated timeline for the project's completion will be shared soon.
Your patience and understanding during this period are greatly appreciated as we work towards enhancing our community.

Twin Cities Road between Bruceville Road and Franklin Boulevard is now closed to through traffic. Temporary detours are currently in place. Please plan for additional travel time or consider using alternative routes. Work on this section is scheduled to be completed in early July.
The detour route in place is:
- Westbound detour: Bruceville Road north to Lambert Road west to Franklin Boulevard.
- Eastbound detour: Franklin Boulevard north to Lambert Road east to Bruceville Road.
- Trucks will be diverted to alternate routes, such as Bilby Road and Point Pleasant Road, to avoid clearance issues at Lambert Road.
About the project: When complete, Harvest Water will deliver up to 50,000 acre-feet, roughly 16 billion gallons, of drought-resistant recycled water each year to agricultural lands and existing habitats in southern Sacramento County, bringing lasting benefits to the region.

Recycle Right: Make a Difference
Recycling correctly is crucial for maintaining a healthy environment and promoting sustainability. Proper recycling helps reduce waste, conserve natural resources, and decrease pollution. It also supports the recycling industry by ensuring that materials can be effectively processed and reused.
The City of Galt has a comprehensive recycling program to make recycling easy and efficient for residents. Each household is provided with a 96-gallon blue recycling cart, which is serviced every other week. Residents can request up to two recycling carts at no additional cost.
To ensure effective recycling, Recyclables must be empty, dry and placed loose in the cart. All items must fall freely from your carts. Items that do not come out of your carts will be serviced on your next scheduled service day.
ACCEPTABLE items include:
- Clean, flattened cardboard
- Glass bottles and jars
- Clean paper, including newspapers, magazines, and junk mail
- Plastic bottles and containers
- Metal cans
Items NOT accepted:
- Plastic bags or Styrofoam
- Hoses, cords, chains, or clothes hangers
- Clothing, shoes, or blankets
- Coated paper or cartons

By recycling right, you help make a positive impact on the environment and your community. Recycle right and make a difference!
