We understand rumors are circulating regarding the future of the recently vacated Rite Aid building on Twin Cities Rd. and Carillion Blvd. We want to take this opportunity to set the record straight and provide you with accurate information about this property.
As most are aware, Rite Aid recently vacated its location in Galt after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. However, due to ongoing bankruptcy proceedings, the property owner is prohibited from advertising the building for lease.
City staff has been actively involved in discussions with the property owner and broker to explore potential future uses for the space. We have been working diligently in an effort to ensure that the property is utilized in a manner that benefits our community and enhances the vibrancy of our city. With that being said, it is important to note that as a privately owned property – the City does not have the ultimate say in what business is located in the space, as long as it is an allowed use in accordance with the Commercial Zoning designation in the Galt Municipal Code.
Our goal is to attract businesses that will contribute positively to our community and meet the needs of our residents. We kindly ask for your patience as we navigate through this process.
