We are pleased to share significant developments coming to Walker Park!
In May 2023, City of Galt staff applied for a grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund Program for Walker Park Phase IIA improvements. And, in December 2023, the City was notified of a $2.65M grant award! Unfortunately, this is only half of the total funding needed to complete the entire project ($5.3M).
Recognizing how important of a project this is to the City, the Galt City Council recently allocated the remaining funds to complete the entire Walker Park Phase IIA improvements.
This improvement will elevate the park's overall experience by adding three youth ball fields, restrooms, landscaping, and paved parking.
Anticipated for completion by the end of 2026, this transformative project aims to deliver an upgraded Walker Park that will significantly benefit our community.
Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting project.
