City of Fullerton Updates
Redistrict Fullerton - Public Maps
The Redistricting Advisory Commission held its second and final public hearing on February 23, 2022. The Commission received a report from the outreach team and the City’s demographer, Dr. Justin Levitt. Dr. Levitt reported the City received 11 public map submissions and three maps prepared by NDC based on community input. (All draft maps are available online at Draft Maps - Laserfiche WebLink (cityoffullerton.com)).
After public comment and discussion, the Commission recommended Maps 111, 112, and 114 for City Council consideration. Please visit the link above to view all map submissions.
Next week on March 8, 2022, City Council will be hosting its third public hearing at 6:30 p.m. to consider the map recommendations and select a final map.
The Fair Maps Act requires posting the final map for consideration for seven days before a final public hearing to adopt the map. City Council will hold another Public Hearing on March 29, 2022, to adopt the final map.

Fullerton Selects Orange County Power Authority’s 70% Renewable Energy Tier
Commercial Service to Begin April, 2022
Residential Service to Begin October, 2022
At the February 1, 2022 City Council meeting the Fullerton City Council chose the “Smart Choice” plan as the default rate for all residential and commercial customers. All customers will be auto-enrolled into this plan with the option to opt-up, opt-down, or opt-out from the Orange County Power Authority (OCPA).
The “Smart Choice” plan provides 69% renewable energy content to customers.
With Fullerton being a member of the OCPA, it is estimated that carbon emissions will be reduced by nearly one million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MTCO2e) per year. Reducing emissions achieved by OCPA through renewable energy is equivalent to removing over 200,000 cars from the road. Once fully implemented, OCPA will serve over 820,000 residents and businesses.
