Fullerton to Unlock Energy Savings with Smart City Solutions
The City of Fullerton has contracted with NORESCO to implement an $8.4 million self-funding energy efficiency project that will save $12.1 million during the contract period, reduce the City’s carbon footprint, enable critical upgrades and create local jobs.
Funded entirely from generated savings, the project demonstrates that energy savings can help local governments tackle deferred maintenance while also expanding smart city technologies and distributed energy resources. To read more about the project click here.

Fullerton Selects Orange County Power Authority’s 70% Renewable Energy Tier
Commercial Service to Begin April, 2022
Residential Service to Begin October, 2022
At the February 1, 2022 City Council meeting the Fullerton City Council chose the “Smart Choice” plan as the default rate for all residential and commercial customers. All customers will be auto-enrolled into this plan with the option to opt-up, opt-down, or opt-out from the Orange County Power Authority (OCPA).
The “Smart Choice” plan provides 69% renewable energy content to customers.
With Fullerton being a member of the OCPA, it is estimated that carbon emissions will be reduced by nearly one million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MTCO2e) per year. Reducing emissions achieved by OCPA through renewable energy is equivalent to removing over 200,000 cars from the road. Once fully implemented, OCPA will serve over 820,000 residents and businesses.
You can learn more about this plan and all other plans by clicking the button below.

Fullerton PD Attends Huntington Beach Procession for Helicopter Pilot Nicolas Vella
The Fullerton Police Department sent one on duty and two support personnel to honor Helicopter Pilot Nicolas Vella from the Huntington Beach Police Department during his procession from Santa Ana to La Habra. Officer Vella, a 14-year veteran of the Huntington Beach Police Department, was a helicopter pilot aboard Huntington Beach Police Department’s airship, HB-1, when it crashed in Newport beach while responding to a call for service last Saturday night. His co-pilot was injured and is in stable condition. His wife and daughter survive officer Vella. The Fullerton Police Department sends our deepest condolences to the family and friends.
HB-1 helicopter would, on occasion, assist the Fullerton Police Department and residents on police calls for service.
