Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Shot Recommended for Some Groups
Who is eligible for a booster?
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the California Department of Public Health recommends certain people previously vaccinated with Pfizer BioNTech should receive a booster. Those identified who should receive a booster include:
People who may consider receiving a booster based on their individual benefits and risks include:
- Age 18 through 49 years with underlying medical conditions; and
- Age 18 through 64 who are at increased risk of exposure to COVID-19 due to their occupation or institutional setting. The CDC currently defines occupations at increased risk for COVID-19 as:
- First responders (healthcare workers, firefighters, police, congregate care staff)
- Education staff (teachers, support staff, daycare workers)
- Food and agriculture workers
- Manufacturing workers
- Corrections workers
- U.S. Postal Service workers
- Public transit workers
- Grocery store workers
Where can I get a booster?
Boosters are available through all current channels, including healthcare providers, clinics and neighborhood pharmacies. Californians can visit MyTurn.ca.gov or call 833-422-4255 to make an appointment or find a nearby vaccine clinic.

Free Concert at Independence Park!
Pacific Symphony's Symphony on the Go!
City of Fullerton Parks & Recreation will offer a free 45-minute concert on Friday, October 8 at 6:30 pm at Independence Park (801 W. Valencia Drive) presenting Pacific Symphony’s Symphony on the Go! mobile stage.
Symphony on the Go! is a mobile community concert experience that is touring throughout Orange County, presenting chamber music programs throughout Orange County and Fullerton is part of the summer concert tour.
Parking will be available at all lots at Independence Park. Due to the short duration of this event restrooms will not be available.

Fullerton Still Accepting Applications for Redistricting Advisory Commission
The Fullerton City Council adopted a resolution to form a Redistricting Advisory Commission on September 21, 2021.
Each Council Member will directly appoint one member to the Commission. At its first meeting, the five directly-appointed members will appoint two additional at-large members to the Commission.
The Commission will assist City Council with requirements of the 2021 post-Census redistricting process, including creation of new district election maps, in accordance with all applicable federal, state and other laws and regulations.
Commission members must be Fullerton residents, at least 18 years old and may not be an elected official of the local jurisdiction or family member, staff member or paid campaign staff of an elected official of the local jurisdiction (Elections Code Section 23002(c)).
The City will accept applications from qualified applicants until October 4, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.
