On June 30 at the Fremont Downtown Event Center, Mayor Raj Salwan delivered the annual State of the City Address, showcasing the City’s major accomplishments from the past fiscal year.

Have you noticed a little red robot cruising around Fremont? That’s Dot, DoorDash’s new all-electric autonomous delivery robot, built right here in Fremont!
You may see Dot traveling through parts of the city as part of a phased rollout. During this phase, Dot is helping map local streets and create a real-time 3D view of the environment to support safe navigation around pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles.
Trained operators accompany the robots as they test and engage with the community.
Based on the results of the pilot and community feedback, an amended permit could allow the robots to operate autonomously within the service area, including Downtown/City Center, Centerville, and Irvington, with the capability to be operated remotely if needed.
Dot is designed to help deliver orders from local restaurants while safely traveling on neighborhood streets, bike lanes, and sidewalks. This partnership highlights Fremont’s leadership in advanced robotics while exploring new ways to support local restaurants and our community.
As the program expands, we will continue to monitor safety and gather community feedback.

Join us at the annual Fremont Festival of the Arts on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm in Downtown Fremont! The festival is produced by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce.
This will be a fun-filled weekend which will include activities and entertainment for the entire family including artist and food booths, food trucks offering a variety of delicious street eats, live performances; Kid City filled with rides and, games, and street performers, including face painters, henna tattoos, and more! Admission is free.
Summer is in full swing, and the fun continues with the City of Fremont’s Summer Camps! With weekly camps available through August 10, there is still plenty of time for youth ages 5 to 17 to discover new interests, build skills, make friends, and create lasting summer memories.
Families can explore a variety of camp themes, including Academic Enrichment, Arts, Cooking, Aquatics, Dance, Theater, Sports, STEM, and more. Half-day and full-day options are available, along with extended care and lunch add-ons at select camps.

The City of Fremont’s 2026 Summer Concert Series is still going strong, with two more evenings of live music, dancing, and summer fun coming to Central Park!
Join us from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Central Park Performance Pavilion for Idea Band on July 23, bringing upbeat party music, followed by CCSegeR on July 30, performing classic hits from CCR and Bob Seger.
Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, grab dinner from Food Truck Mafia’s lineup of food trucks, and settle in for a relaxing summer evening beside Lake Elizabeth. Dance, sing along, or simply relax and enjoy the summer atmosphere during the final two concerts!

The City of Fremont is excited to highlight Dusterberry Park, a newly developed neighborhood park and community space in central Fremont, as July’s Park of the Month!
The park features newly installed playgrounds designed for children ages 2–5 and 5–12, along with a basketball court, fitness zone, and open field. Visitors can also relax at one of the park’s picnic tables and benches or browse the Little Free Library, a one-of-a-kind feature among Fremont’s parks.
More than just a place to play, Dusterberry Park offers a welcoming space for the community to gather and connect. Whether you are planning a children’s playdate, taking a casual stroll, starting a pickup game on the open field, finding your next read, or fitting in a workout, this park offers something for everyone.
