Celebrate the 4th of July in Fremont

From exciting community traditions to a first-ever drone show, celebrate Independence Day and America’s 250th Anniversary right here in Fremont. Join us for live entertainment, community celebrations, and patriotic festivities taking place throughout the city.

July 2 – Summer Concert Series & America 250 Drone Show

Enjoy an evening of live music at the Summer Concert Series, then stay for a FREE America 250 Drone Show over Central Park. Presented by the City of Fremont and Fremont Bank, this special aerial light show celebrates America’s 250th Anniversary and is 15-minute show starting approximately at 9:00 pm.

July 4 – Fremont 4th of July Parade & After Party

Celebrate Independence Day at Fremont’s annual Fourth of July Parade and After Party. Enjoy a morning parade followed by entertainment, activities, food, and community fun at the Downtown Event Center. View Parade road closure information.

July 4 – Old-Fashioned Independence Day at Ardenwood Historic Farm

Step back in time for a traditional Fourth of July celebration at Ardenwood Historic Farm. Enjoy historic activities, entertainment, games, and family-friendly fun throughout the day. Admission fees apply.

All Fireworks are banned in the City of Fremont

As a reminder, all fireworks are banned in the City of Fremont. This ban includes the sale, possession, and use of all fireworks within the city of Fremont. Learn more about the ban, fines, and how to report.

Fremont 4th of July Parade and After Party

Join us for the Fremont 4th of July Parade, presented by the Fremont 4th of July Parade non-profit on July 4, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The Parade starts at Fremont Main Library and ends at Fremont City Hall in Downtown Fremont.

And the celebration doesn’t stop when the parade ends! Head over to the Fremont Parade After Party, hosted by the Fremont Education Foundation, from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm at the Downtown Event Center and Plaza, 3500 Capitol Ave. The Event Center lobby will be open for a cooling respite.

• July 7, 2026: City Charter Public Hearing #2 during the regularly scheduled City Council meeting at 7:00 pm. Learn more information about the City Charter Initiative.

• July 21, 2026: At the regularly scheduled City Council Meeting at 7:00 pm, there will be an agenda item about a Transactions and Use Tax Measure for Voter Consideration in November 3, 2026, Election.

• July 28, 2026: Charter City Final Meeting during the tentatively scheduled Special Council Meeting at 7:00 pm for consideration of City Charter ballot placement. Learn more information about the City Charter Initiative.

All City Council meeting agendas will be posted in our Agenda Center within 72 hours of the meeting. This includes agendas for regularly scheduled Council Meetings and tentatively scheduled Special Council Meetings.

Mayor Salwan Delivers 2026 State of the City Address

On June 30 at the Fremont Downtown Event Center, Mayor Raj Salwan delivered the annual State of the City Address, showcasing the City’s major accomplishments from the past fiscal year and outlining his vision for the future of Fremont.

Just a sampling of the highlights include:

• $1B in expanded utility infrastructure
• 567 new affordable housing units
• 13% decrease in violent crime
• 1500+ trees planted

The webcast will be rebroadcast on Fremont’s Government Channel, Cable TV Channel 27, and posted to the City website by the end of the day on Friday, July 10.

New Homeless Response Data Dashboard is Live!

We are excited to announce that our new Homeless Response Data Dashboard is up and running. Centered around the results of Fremont’s homelessness response efforts, the dashboard highlights key statistics on community reports, debris clean-ups, encampment removals, and offered services.

To reflect our city-wide commitment to transparency, as outlined in the Homelessness Response Plan, the dashboard will be updated monthly with data from the Fremont App and will include data for the last five Alameda County Point-in-Time Counts, going back 10 years. In addition, the dashboard features several charts and an interactive map of City activities.

So far, the data reflects only a portion of the dedicated work our staff conducts to address the impacts of homelessness across Fremont. As we continue finding ways to meaningfully track our progress, we hope to expand this dashboard with more service-focused data and outcomes in the future.

Community Alert: Scam Impersonating City of Fremont Departments/Divisions

The City is warning community members about a scam in which individuals falsely claim to represent a City department/division—such as Planning, Building and Safety, or other divisions—and attempt to collect fake payments or fines related to permits or applications.

Scammers may send emails or letters stating that you owe an immediate payment. In some cases, the email account name may display “City of Fremont,” but the email address itself is fraudulent. Examples of scam email addresses include "CityOfFremont@usa.com", "Fremont@Fremont.com", or other look‑alike domains.

Thursday, July 2: America 250 Drone Show, at the Central Park Performance Pavilion, held in conjunction with the City of Fremont’s Summer Concert Series. The evening will conclude with a coordinated aerial drone display over Lake Elizabeth beginning at approximately 9:00 pm.
