As spring arrives, so do the G.O.A.T.s! A hardworking herd of goats has officially returned to put their grazing talents to work along Fremont’s hillsides.
Now at the corner of Pine Street and Paseo Padre Parkway within Sabercat Historical Park, the goats are busy grazing on brush, invasive grasses, and herbaceous plants to naturally clear vegetation that can fuel wildfires. It’s an eco‑friendly way to care for our open spaces and protect our community at the same time.
Visitors are welcome to stop by the park and watch the goats in action! To ensure a safe experience for both visitors and the animals, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
- Stay Clear of Fencing: The grazing areas are enclosed by electrified fencing. Avoid touching the fence or allowing children or pets near it. Warning signs are posted along the perimeter as a reminder.
- Respect the Animals: Please do not feed or try to touch the goats. They have a big job to do!
- Leash Your Pets: Remember to keep pets on a leash at all times.
- On-Site Care: A professional goatherder and a dedicated herding dog live on-site to look after the goats’ needs and monitor the area.
Let’s hear it for Fremont’s G.O.A.T.s of grazing! Their hard work is lowering wildfire risk and helping to make our community a safer place.
The City of Fremont’s Community Services Department is gearing up for another exciting season of community events, recreational programs, and youth activities. As participation continues to grow, community partnerships play an important role in keeping these experiences accessible and impactful.
Support from local organizations makes popular City events such as the Summer Concert Series, Movie Nights, and more possible. Sponsorships help bring these events to life, while scholarship contributions expand access for Fremont youth and teens.

As warmer weather arrives, individuals experiencing homelessness face serious heat‑related risks. The City of Fremont is continuing its partnership with Bay Area Community Services (BACS) to request community donations of new warm‑weather essentials. Donations will be distributed through City Homeless Services programs, including the Housing Resource Center and the Safe Parking Program, and shared with BACS to ensure items reach people who need them most, as quickly as possible. Items must be brand new with tags or in original packaging.
Most needed items include bottled water, SPF and moisture wicking clothing, cooling towels, hats, and sunscreen. You can purchase items and drop them off in person, or you can order directly from our online wish list and have them delivered straight to the City for distribution.
Thank you for your generosity and for supporting our community. No matter the size, your donation helps neighbors stay safe and healthy throughout the summer.
