New resource is designed in a youth-friendly style and plain language to encourage engagement on drug safety, e‑bike safety, cyberbullying, and more
The Fremont Police Department launched “Know Your Stuff,” a new teen safety website intentionally designed with youth-focused visuals and accessible language to draw youth in and encourage them to explore critical safety information. The site brings together practical tips, local resources, and how‑to guidance on drug safety, e‑bike safety, and preventing/responding to cyberbullying, with content curated to be relatable and actionable for young people. The page was developed and launched in mid‑February 2026 as part of the department’s ongoing youth engagement efforts.
We heard clearly from our community that they want us to connect with young people in ways that feel welcoming and relevant. By designing a site that looks and sounds like it was made for teens, we’re creating a space where they’ll actually spend time, learn, and share safety information with friends.
The site’s content focuses on:
-
Drug safety: facts and myth‑busting, how to recognize risks, and where to get help.
-
E‑bike safety: types of e-bikes, local rules of the road, helmet use, speed and visibility tips, and best practices.
-
Cyberbullying resources: recognizing online harassment, steps to protect yourself, reporting options, and support services.
-
School Resource Officers: profiles and contact information for the officers assigned to each school district, offering teens a friendly introduction and fostering positive relationships.
This initiative aligns with the Fremont Police Department’s commitment to community partnership and trust‑building, emphasizing practical, youth‑oriented education that supports overall public safety.
How to Access: The “Know Your Stuff” teen safety website is available on the Fremont Police Department’s website: https://fremontpolice.gov/KnowYourStuff
Over the past month, City staff from Economic Development and Public Works have collaborated on a proposal with DoorDash to introduce Dot, the company’s delivery robot, to the Fremont community through a measured set of steps that ensure public safety and community engagement. Manufactured right here in Fremont, Dot is an all-electric, compact robot designed to reliably bring orders straight to your door while safely navigating city streets. Our partnership with DoorDash highlights Fremont’s leadership in advanced robotics and continued support for commercial vibrancy, especially in our growing Downtown.
Details on Dot’s Phased Rollout:
-
Phase 1A: DoorDash would only operate up to 3 robots for community engagement, testing and demonstration purposes, during which robots are chaperoned by local operators.
-
Phase 1B: Based on the experiences and feedback from Phase 1A, an amended permit would be issued by Public Works to allow up to 30 robots to operate autonomously within the Service Area and with the capability to be operated remotely as needed.
- Phase 1B Primary Routes: Walnut Ave, Fremont Blvd, Mowry Ave, Stevenson Blvd, Paseo Padre Pkwy

-
Phase 2: Continued ongoing operations and expansion of service would be subject to a separate review and approval process.
