Campus at Bayside Achieves Significant Development Milestone
A ceremonial groundbreaking event took place on July 22 for Phase 1 of Campus at Bayside, a 473,250 SF industrial project at 47100 Lakeview Blvd. This is a major milestone for Fremont’s Bayside Technology Park and a strong reflection of the City’s continued role as a manufacturing and industrial powerhouse. From reshoring semiconductor manufacturing, testing EV batteries, to the rapid growth of AI technology, industrial demand continues to position Fremont as where companies go to successfully scale their operations. At full lease-up, the project anticipates the creation of over 1,100 jobs in various manufacturing and R&D roles.
Fremont Police Chief Sean Washington to Continue in Interim Role Until Successor is Appointed
Last month, Fremont Police Chief Sean Washington announced his retirement from the City of Fremont. Following his official retirement on August 9, Chief Washington has agreed to remain in the role as Interim Police Chief while the City conducts a nationwide, competitive search for his successor. The recruitment process is expected to begin in the upcoming weeks and will take approximately three to four months.
The City is grateful for Chief Washington’s continued commitment to Fremont and his support in ensuring a smooth and seamless transition. With this approach, the City anticipates minimal disruption, allowing the Fremont Police Department to continue delivering the high level of service our community expects and deserves.
