 Celebrate the Grand Opening of Fremont Fire's 14th Company
Join us for the Grand Opening Celebration of Fremont Fire Department's 14th Company on Tuesday, January 14 at 1:00 pm at Fremont Station #6, 43555 Central Ave.
We will commemorate the addition of one fire truck and nine firefighters in the department. The addition of a 3rd Truck Company supports a more robust and efficient service delivery as the City of Fremont continues to grow and develop.

Earlier this week,14 Fremont firefighters joined two Alameda County-based California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (CAL OES) Strike Teams and one Task Force for deployment to the destructive fires in Los Angeles County. Eight Fremont firefighters responded as part of two CAL OES Strike Teams assigned to the Palisades Fire with crews from Alameda County, Oakland, Hayward, Piedmont, Berkeley, and East Bay Regional Parks, while six Fremont firefighters prepared for their assignment as part of a CAL OES Task Force with personnel from Albany, Alameda County and Oakland requested to assist with responding to the Eaton Fire. We wish all personnel a safe deployment.
At next week’s City Council meeting on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, which begins at 7:00 pm at City Hall, 3300 Capitol Ave., the meeting agenda will include the following items and more:
- Special Use Agreement for the Operation of the Patterson House at the Ardenwood Historic Farm Regional Preserve.
- Enrichment Program Services Agreement Between the City of Fremont and the Fremont Unified School District.
- Code Update 2024 - Housing Element Implementation - Citywide - PLN2025-00074 - Public Hearing (Published Notice).

The City of Fremont is asking for input from Fremont residents on the needs in our community. Over the next few months, the City will be drafting its 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan required by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to apply and receive federal funds. The Consolidated Plan prioritizes the local use of federal Community Development Block Grant and Emergency Solution Grant funds for affordable housing and community development needs and is based on a needs assessment, market analysis, and public outreach. The data is used to create a strategic plan that outlines how Fremont will use federal funding to address the identified needs and set priorities for funding for the next five years.
The deadline to complete the survey has been extended to Friday, January 17 at 5:00 pm.
Join the Age Well Center (AWC) at South Fremont for an Open House Breakfast on Wednesday, January 22 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am at the Center located at 47111 Mission Falls Court. Enjoy tours of the center, experience demonstrations of classes, and learn more about how you can become a member. A hot breakfast will be free for first-time visitors. Existing members or users of the center must bring a new friend or neighbor who’s not registered at the AWC to dine for free; otherwise, breakfast is $5.50. Registration is required. The City of Fremont is seeking the professional services of artists who are interested in being considered for a commission for the new Central Park Community Center. Located in Fremont, the proposed community center will be a modern park building nestled within the 430-acre Central Park. Submissions of qualifications are due Friday, January 31.

Lights! Camera! Water! The Alameda County Water District’s 6th annual WaterClips Student Video Contest invites Tri-City area students in grades 6-12 to create 30-second videos showcasing the impact and importance of District water in their daily lives. The District will award students over $1,500 in scholarships with winning entries at an awards ceremony and reception hosted at the Fremont Downtown Event Center. Teachers can win, too! ACWD will award classroom scholarships of up to $500 to teachers sponsoring winning student videos or for sponsoring the most qualified videos. Students can enter the contest as an individual participant or submit a group entry, now through March 7, 2025.
