Provide Input on the Active Transportation Plan at Upcoming Farmers Market

You can also provide your input on project and program priorities through the Phase 3 survey and location-based input on the proposed bicycle network and pedestrian priority areas through the new interactive map. The survey and interactive map will close on June 28. The team hopes to hear from you either online or in-person!

It's that time of year again! The 4th of July Parade is back and the theme for this year is, "Peace, Love, and Fremont."
The parade will start at 10:00 am on Stevenson Blvd. at the Fremont Main Library, continue down Paseo Padre Parkway, and end on Capitol Avenue at the Downtown Event Center. The parade is organized by the Fremont 4th of July Parade, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organization; the parade and related events are funded by community sponsorship and donations.
The Fremont 4th of July Parade will take place on Thursday, July 4 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in Downtown Fremont. Fremont Police Department asks attendees to please refrain from bringing backpacks and large bags into the parade area. All bags are subject to search. In addition, UAVs (drones) will not be permitted to fly over the parade route or within the event venue. Only official parade participants with credentials will be allowed to enter the staging area and parade route. Please plan ahead—several major roadways will be closed during the parade. All road closures will begin on July 4 from approximately 6:00 am and roads are expected to reopen by 2:00 pm. Please expect heavy traffic and delays in the area for the duration of the event.
Road closures are as follows:
- Paseo Padre Parkway (both directions full closure between Mowry Avenue and Stevenson Boulevard)
- Capitol Avenue (between State Street and Paseo Padre Parkway)
- Hastings Street (between Capitol Avenue and Mowry Avenue)
- Walnut Avenue (between Liberty Street and Civic Center Drive)
- Liberty Street (between Beacon Avenue and Capitol Avenue)
- Stevenson Blvd. (between Civic Center Drive and Paseo Padre Pkwy.)

The City would like to thank everyone who joined us at the Future of Fremont event hosted by the Silicon Valley Business Journal earlier this month! Over 150 attendees gathered at the Downtown Event Center to hear from experts who are helping to shape Fremont's future.
From pioneering industries like advanced manufacturing and cleantech; to major development projects, such as the opening of Fremont Bank and numerous additions to Capitol Avenue; and to innovative workforce programs like Ohlone College’s Earn and Learn Program as well as Tesla’s Employee Education Assistance (EEA) Program, Fremont has many exciting stories to share.
The Irvington Library will close this summer. The last day of library service will be July 31, 2024. The Alameda County Library (AC Library) will bring new library services to Irvington soon. The Irvington and Fremont Main makerspaces will be combined to provide a more enriched makerspace experience at the Fremont Main Library. AC Library will bring innovative and modern ways to check out books in nearby locations and add an additional pick-up location in South Fremont.
