The City’s Development Services Center/Permit Center, located at 39550 Liberty St., is adding more in-person hours of operation to assist the public with their permitting inquiries. Starting next week, the Center will be open to provide in-person services on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm (closed from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm). The Center will no longer be open for in-person services on Mondays, and it will continue to be closed for in-person services on Fridays. On these days, staff will be focusing on processing online permits. Staff will continue to be available on Mondays and Fridays to assist the public by phone and email. Additionally, online services will become available over the next few months, which will replicate the in-person services provided on the days the Center is open to the public.
The City is making it easier for Fremont residents to install rooftop solar and storage systems! The new Instant Solar Permit (ISP) is now available for solar installation contractors. Contractors can apply for the new ISP with the help of SolarAPP+, an online portal for permitting new residential rooftop solar and storage systems. SolarAPP+ helps streamline the permitting process by instantly issuing an ISP for code-compliant systems. It provides an automated permit process that integrates with the City's existing permitting portal, Citizen Access. For more information and instructions on how to apply, please visit the City’s Instant Solar Permit webpage.

 Pet of the Week Adoptions
Did you know purebred dogs could be found in animal shelters? True story. Handsome Crow is an easygoing French Bulldog. We haven't had a chance to see Crow with children so would want to make sure adopters with small children were respectful and interactions monitored. To adopt a new family member from the Tri-City Animal Shelter, apply online. The customer service team will review your application and contact you to set up an appointment at a time that works for you on a first-come, first-served basis. All adoptions from the Tri City Animal Shelter include vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, microchipping, and spay/neuter surgery.

Give Your Input on How State Highways Can Be Better for Bicycling
The Bay Area District of Caltrans (District 4) is updating their 2018 Bike Plan and is looking for feedback from bike riders on how cycling along or across State Highways can be made more comfortable and convenient. In Fremont, examples of State Highways that may be of interest for local cycling include: Route 238 (Mission Blvd.) in the Niles area or around Mission San Jose High School; freeway interchange crossings like Decoto Road at I-880, Mowry Avenue at I-880 or Mission Blvd. at I-680; and freeway frontage roads like Marshlands Road near the State Route 84 Dumbarton Bridge.
